I finally spotted the Wet n Wild Where’s The Party? Collection in the CVS my intuition told me it was at! Unfortunately, they only had two out of the three palettes, and one of the two in stock is a re-release of the Wet n Wild matte palette from awhile ago. I have to admit that my heart sunk when I saw they were sold out of “Sparkle ‘Til Morning.” My poor husband had to listen to me groan and whine about how I should have listened to my instincts and visited the drugstore sooner. In any case, these were actually buy one get one free, so I picked up the remaining two Shimmer The Night Away palette’s. Let’s take a look at this brand new Holiday 2012 collection…
I had a feeling that after all my drugstore searching this would be the one to have it. Sure enough, they had the display, but only the matte palette was left along with Shimmer The Night Away. These were actually buy one get one free, so I purchased the remaining two Shimmer The Night Away palette’s left, in hopes that someone would swap me with the one missing.
I was so, so elated to finally find these! You have no idea. I kept seeing people finding these at various drugstores throughout the country, and I kept aimlessly searching my local drugstores. I absolutely love Wet n Wild eyeshadow palettes, and I go to great lengths to find new releases!
This is the perfect holiday palette. You’ve got your typical “smokey eye” eyeshadow shades that are classic and gleaming, as well as a mix of shimmery brights to keep it fun for holiday’s like New Year’s.
Wet n Wild eyeshadow palettes are normally extremely pigmented and rich in color. So did these live up to my expectations?
The left side of the palette is a complete stunner. Every single shade is soft and pigmented…super rich in color, shimmery and gorgeous. These are the perfect reflection of the holiday season. This is what Wet n Wild quality is all about right here, and if I need to create a smokey eye, I will definitely reach for these four shades.
The right side of the palette is brighter, and still beautiful, but decidedly less pigmented. The blue is extremely pigmented, but the duo-chrome bright pink and the bright purple were pigmented, but a bit hard to swatch and work with. They were a little bit on the stiff side for Wet n Wild eyeshadow shades, to be honest. I was able to build the color up to be pigmented, but they were definitely less soft than other shades. They still perform quite beautifully when layered, and I’m curious to put this side of the palette to test on my actual eyelids.
Overall: Wet n Wild delivers a gorgeous eyeshadow collection yet again! You just cannot beat Wet n Wild’s quality and value when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. The colors are smooth and rich in pigmentation.
