Autumn has always been my favorite season, but with this summer being particularly brutal here in the south this year, I’m really looking forward to the cooler temperatures and open window weather. I decided to combine some of my favorite warm, rich autumn-like shades to create this look. I’m using an inexpensive lip gloss from Colourpop that I absolutely adore and a really great matte eyeliner from Milani that is drugstore accessible this fall.
For this makeup look, I used my Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette to achieve a group of warm tones that complement each other. You can use any brand or palette you own with similar shades, so here’s how I did it:
- Apply a matte warm bronze shade to the entire crease and socket, generously blending it upward toward your brow-bone. For the Anastasia palette specifically, I used “Realgar.”
- Use a matte dark red-based brown for the crease of the eye only. You’ll know if it has red in it based on whether or not it looks warm to you versus cool-toned. Focus this shade in the crease only and along your lower lash-line, using “Realgar” to smoke out the lower lash-line again so it’s very blended. In the Anastasia palette I used “Red Ochre.”
- Apply a shimmering champagne beige shade over the entire eyelid and pack it on up to the crease. In the Anastasia palette I used “Primavera.”
- Go back and make sure everything is blended out well.
I applied a flesh-toned eyeliner in my water-line and some thick matte black eyeliner. I am using the new Milani Stay Put Matte Liquid Liner, which I really love because it’s so simple to apply and it dries down to a matte finish that lasts all day long. I mean this liner did not budge until I used an oil-based makeup remover on it. I LOVE it!
My lashes are super dramatic and I added them last minute to add extra flair to the photographs. They are Flutter Lashes in “Slayla.”
The finished product reminds me of the warm shades the leaves turn as autumn progresses.
My lips are Colourpop’s Ultra Glossy Lip in “Wolfie.” Talk about stunning. It’s a rosy pink shade with golden reflects in it.
The finished look is very warm and full of rich pigments. I kept the face makeup to a minimum, just concealing the areas of my face that needed it and then adding a matte bronze blush to my cheeks.
I have some stunning new releases from Milani Cosmetics coming up this week, as well, including their new Amore Metallic Matte Lipsticks. Stay tuned!
