The Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette is amazing, and it’s been sitting on my vanity getting daily use since I bought it. I decided to put together this metallic silver and purple eye makeup look as a twist on your typical black and silver smoky eye. The purple shades I used in this palette have a blue-violet duo-chrome effect to them, so it really complements the metallic silver shade. This is a fun look to wear out at night or maybe even for an upcoming Halloween party you may be going to.
How To Achieve This Look:
- Apply “Shellshock,” the metallic silver over your entire eyelid.
- Apply “Betrayal,” the duo-chrome blue-violet shade all along your lower lash-line and in the crease of your eyes. Blend this shade upward outside of your crease and toward your brow-bone.
- Apply “Voodoo,” the darker purple with a pencil brush directly into the socket of your eye. You want to apply this only where the socket of your eye is, for depth and definition. Also, apply this shade to the outer third of your eye to add a smokiness to the look. If you need to, go back and apply “Betrayal” above your crease again to blend out “Voodoo.” The idea is that the darker purple is directly in the socket of your eye, and the lighter duo-chrome purple is blended out above your crease.
- Apply black eyeliner to your lower water-line. I used Urban Decay’s “Perversion.” Also, apply black liner to your upper lash-line and wing it out at the corners. Apply mascara.
The black liner adds contrast to the playful colors used for this look. I love the way the metallic silver and the different shades of shimmering violet come together. The look is feminine and pretty, but also edgy and fun.
This is a great look for a fun night out or even for Halloween coming up, depending on your costume. It’d be great for a cartoon character look, a fairy or princess look, or even if you’re not planning on wearing a costume but want to have some fun with your makeup instead.

I follow your blog since a couple of months…I really like your eye makeup looks, but I would prefer seeing the whole face after the look is done…I don’t like only “one eye photos”…It’s how the eye looks in the whole face, how I would like to see it…My opinion. By the way did this silver purple metallic look today with substitutes, since Urban Decay is not available in my country. All the best, Kris

Thank you for your input, Kris! I will definitely include more total face pictures with my makeup looks for now on. I am never sure what people prefer, and I sometimes do both. I will definitely do more full face pictures now. xx

Gorgeous. I just bought this palette so I can try and do this to my eyes, but I agree with the other commenter. I like to see the whole look too to see what it look like with your face in the picture 🙂
