I have had the Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette on my radar for a few weeks now. I was going to pass on it until I walked into my local Ulta, saw it on display and then immediately caved and purchased it in less than 5 minutes. Where is my willpower?
I love that the majority of the palette is matte, since I’ve been wearing more and more matte eyeshadow shades lately. There are 4 insanely gorgeous metallic shimmers on the side of the palette, though, and they will entice you to purchase the palette themselves. I’ve got the full look and tutorial inside!
The Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette contains sixteen matte shades and four insanely gorgeous metallic shimmers along the side of the palette. I think this palette will appeal to a wide variety of makeup lovers because it has a lot of neutrals in it with just enough color to play around with and make some bolder looks.
GET THE LOOK:
- Apply Shade 1 (Indie) over your entire eyelid as a base. I’ve been using a neutral or skin-tone shade on my eyelid lately to start off all makeup looks. I find that it’s a good trick to make sure all the other shades blend well.
- Apply Shade 2 (Whimsy) with a fluffy blending brush in the socket of your eyes and blend upward generously. This is a brick orange shade and it’ll pop against our burgundy eyelid color.
- Use Shade 3 (Mod) on your entire eyelid and along your lower lash-line. Go back with Shade 2 (Whimsy) to clean up the crease if you need to. You just want everything to be blended perfectly.
- Wet a small eyeshadow brush and apply Shade 4 (Minx) onto the center of your eyelid and on the center of your lower lash-line. This is where is the light naturally hits your eyes anyway, and it’ll add a gorgeous metallic gleam. You may want to go back with the eyelid color and blend these two together well. It should look seamless.
- To finish off the look, use Shade 5 (Classic) on your brow-bone to highlight and blend your socket color well.
I used black eyeliner in my water-line and created a dramatic wing on my upper lashes. I curled my lashes and applied mascara. I did add some lashes along the outer corners of my eyes only, just to enhance my eye shape.
This look is perfect for autumn. I find myself reaching for really warm, fiery shades this time of year. I also like to keep things monochromatic on my face, matching my blush to my lip color. I used MAC Melba Blush which is basically my all-time favorite blush ever. I highly recommend it for all skin tones!
For my lips, I used one of my favorite nude matte lip shades, Kat Von D’s “Bow n Arrow” Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. It dries down completely matte and doesn’t smudge or transfer until you take your makeup off.
Though I own so many palettes, the Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette is a great addition to my collection since there are so many matte shades. If you prefer matte eyeshadow because you like more natural makeup or you have more mature skin and don’t want shimmery eyeshadow to highlight creases and wrinkles, you’ll love this palette.
The Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette is available at Ulta stores nationwide and online here. Each palette retails for $53.00USD.
