Last week, I swatched the brand new Maybelline Summer 2013 Color Tattoo Eyeshadows, and I received a lot of requests to actually put them into action and do a makeup look with them! I certainly don’t blame all the requests…these eyeshadow shades are absolutely gorgeous and very unique with their metallic and duo-chrome effect. Today, I have a look using Seashore Frosts, which was actually my favorite one of the bunch because it has such a unique duo-chrome shimmer effect to it. Inside, I’ve got the full look and how I achieved it!
If you want to see swatches of Seashore Frosts, you can see my swatches on the blog here. Since this shade is a duo-chrome, I wanted to help bring out the effect. I applied a black base to my eyelid first (NYX Jumbo Pencil in “Black Bean”). Then, I blended a matte mauve-brown shade into the crease of my eye, just for some added definition to the overall look. Lastly, I patted Seashore Frosts over my entire eyelid, as well as my lower lash-line. The effect by itself is beautiful, but when you layer this one over a dark base, it really brings out the multiple colors and complexity of the product.
You’ll see even throughout my photographs of this look how different the eyeshadow can look depending on the lighting and angle at which my eye is. It’s a really complex, gorgeous shade that will last for hours and hours on your eyelids!
Seashore Frosts can look more metallic olive-grey, or more light blue depending on the lighting and angle.
Overall, I love these new Color Tattoo Eyeshadow shades for Summer 2013. They are not just pretty in the packaging, but also on the actual eyelid. I’ve never had any problem with the Color Tattoo’s yet, and I’m happy to say that they are definitely one of my favorite drugstore eyeshadow products of all time!
