Let’s face it, when someone stops you and gives you a compliment on your makeup, you walk away with an extra spring in your step. It doesn’t matter if it’s a stranger, a friend, or a significant other, we all thrive off of compliments from others, and nothing feels better than knowing your face looks fabulous! Today, I have my Top 3 Tricks For Getting Noticed With Makeup. Whether you want to look extra hot for a date or an upcoming event, or you simply want to feel extra confident about yourself, these three tricks will definitely get you noticed for your natural (with a little faux thrown in, shhh!) beauty.

1. Glowing, luminous, healthy skin. You do not need to have perfect skin like a supermodel in order to rock gorgeous, luminous, revitalized looking skin. You can fake it until you make it, honey! I always say that great skin is the best makeup there is, and here are some tricks to faking your perfect glow:
Apply a dewy-finish foundation. I like to use a Beauty Blender sponge when I am using dewy foundation because I find that it gives my skin the most natural, lightweight, glowing coverage. If you don’t have a Beauty Blender, you can use a damp makeup sponge to pat the foundation on. You want your foundation to cover any redness and imperfections, but it is important that your skin still shines through. The dewy foundation will leave your skin looking fresher, younger, and much more awake.
Apply concealer (if you need it). This is my top trick for concealer, and I swear by it! I always use a lighter concealer shade than my actual skin. We want to brighten the area as well as conceal it, so go 1-2 shades lighter than your actual skin. Apply the concealer underneath your eyes, in a triangle-shape along your cheekbones and nose area. I also apply a small triangle on my forehead region. Use your makeup sponge to pat the concealer in well. Remember to pat, pat, pat the concealer in, not wipe. You want to cover, conceal, and correct rather than blend it away.
Apply a luminizer along your upper cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, the cupid’s bow of your lips, and your brow-bone. You can use a cream, liquid, or powder highlighter…it’s all up to you! I like to use a cream highlighter and lightly dab it along my upper cheekbones with my ring finger. If you’re unsure about where to apply it, go ahead and look in the mirror at an angle. Watch where the light naturally hits the area underneath your eyes, but before your cheeks. This is where your highlighter was born to be applied! This will give you an insanely gorgeous glow, and every time you whip that head in any direction, you will look like you have the healthiest, freshest skin on the block!
The finished look is skin that looks perfected, youthful, dewy, and glowing. The best part? It’s all faked with makeup products! When wearing this look, you can get away with very little to no other makeup on your eyes and lips. I applied a light pink lipstick, but other than that, I’d probably just curl my lashes and apply some mascara.
2. Bright, bright, BRIGHT lips! Go big or go home when it comes to bold lipstick. Anyone can wear bright lipstick, regardless of your age or skin tone. I hear a lot of people often say that they are intimidated by bright lipstick, but if you keep your other makeup to a minimum, you don’t have to worry about looking overdone. Keep your cheeks bronzed or lightly blushed and your eyes bare with nothing but a little neutral eyeshadow and mascara, and let your lips be the center of attention. Bright, bold lip colors are always sure to get you noticed, and they can do wonders for your eye color, hair color, and skin tone when you find the right shade. Here are my top four bright lip colors that everyone can find their perfect shade of:
Hot orange lipstick is very trendy right now and looks fantastic against light-medium to dark skin tones and those with blue or green eyes. Violet and purple lipstick is another huge trend right now, and can really make hazel and brown eyes pop. Red lipstick never, ever goes out of style because it’s the classic, sophisticated bombshell shade. Hot pink is stunning on all skin tones, all hair colors, and all eye colors. Rocking a hot pink lip can make your skin look brighter, your skin tone look tanner, and really boost your mood! To make your bold lips last, apply your lipstick and blot with a tissue once. Reapply another coat, and apply translucent powder over top of your lips. Your lipstick will last for hours and hours, and you won’t lose that gorgeous bold color!
3. Smokey eyes. If your eyes are the window to your soul, then you better make sure you play them up! Smokey eyes are so classic, and they are no longer boring, with so many different variations of shades, colors, and techniques you can use. The best tip is to make sure you play up your specific eye color and shape. For hazel and brown eyes, use purple, green, or blue shades. For green eyes, try shades of violet and grey. For blue eyes, try shades of bronze, brown, and orange-tones. All eye colors look beautiful with the classic silver and black shades. Really take the time to look in the mirror and study your face. Don’t feel vain for doing so! Get to know your eye shape and assess whether or not they are round, almond shaped, close together, far apart, hooded, etc. Your smokey eye will enhance your eye shape!
Since I’ve got blue-green eyes, I tend to love bronze-gold shades that have a gradient from light to dark on my eye. The bronze shade brings out the color of my eyes.
Since I have almond shaped eyes, and a fairly shallow socket area, I like to bring my crease color up into a round shape, and slightly higher toward my brow-bone. This creates an illusion of a deeper, stronger socket, and it also enhances the almond-shape of my eyes. Following your natural eye shape is recommended, but definitely don’t be afraid to play around a little bit and see how certain placing of shades can change the look of your eyes completely!
When I wear a smokey eye, I get compliments on my eye color, because it really stands out much more against the dark shades. It’s sexy and it’s perfect for a night out or an event. Don’t be afraid to play up those eyes with eyeliner and eyeshadow. You can never go wrong as long as you blend, blend, blend with your brushes!
Those are my Top 3 Tricks For Getting Noticed With Makeup. Try one of these or try all three, and I guarantee someone will compliment you and notice how beautiful you look.
