Be still my beating heart. The new Spring 2014 Zoya Magical PixieDust Collection is finally here! Zoya’s PixieDust formula is one of my favorites when it comes to glitter nail polish. The polishes are used without a topcoat and dry down to a super glittery, sparkling, textured finish. Zoya has amped up their game by adding in larger pieces of glitter and holographic pixie particles! Just when I thought the PixieDust’s couldn’t be any more gorgeous…the Zoya fairies have to go ahead and add in a holographic finish. These are basically like diamonds for your fingernails. I am in love. These polishes light up your nails and make them look so full of bling, that the light will constantly be catching your nails. I’ve got full swatches inside of Cosmo, Vega, and Lux.

It’s safe to say that I have major spring fever. I’m all in. In stores like Target, there are already Easter decorations and candy out, and with the weather being very warm and temperate here, I’m feeling it. These are the epitome of spring: soft, pastel colors with massive amounts of sparkle. There are 3 polishes total in the collection. Let’s take an up close look at swatches…
Lux is a rosy-pink shade, but it can kind of almost look like a lavender pink with all the sparkle. I love the feminine pink shade against the blast of glitter and holographic particles. It’s feminine, but also ends up looking pretty rockstar-like with all the glitter particles. All of these are to be worn without a top coat, as they dry down to a textured finish.
Vega is a blue shade that reminds me of mermaids! So pretty. It makes wearing blue nail polish really flattering. I love all the different textures and sparkle going on. It really lights up and it’s a beautiful shade if you’re looking for something different than classic pink nail polish.
Cosmo is a pure silver crystal shade and it has to be my favorite out of the bunch. There’s something about the simplicity of the silver against the holographic particles. You can see how the holographic particles shine in this one, especially. In the swatches above, you can see how the holographic particles are shining and creating different colors on the nail. GOR-GEOUS. This is like having pure diamonds on your fingernails.
Here is “Cosmo” up close, so you can see all the glitter and holographic particles. This polish really is wondrous. Pictures don’t do it justice.
Each of these polishes was perfect in formula. They were rich in pigmentation, and needed only 2 coats to be opaque. The formula isn’t too thin or too thick, it’s just right. I find that as long as you’re careful not to put your coats on too thick with this polish, it’s an absolute dream to work with. Also, the wear time on the Zoya PixieDust polishes is insane. I can easily get 2 weeks of wear out of these with just some minor chipping. The lack of a top coat (though you could use one for a glossy effect) really gives these a unique finish and look, and I’m all in on it!
Zoya’s Magical PixieDust Collection is available now for pre-order and is shipping out February 2014. Each polish retails for $10.00 USD, and it also comes in a set with all 3 polishes. You can currently pre-order these online on Zoya’s website. *BIG5FREE: Zoya Nail Polish and Treatment Formulas are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene and camphor.
