On any given day, you’ll probably find me in a makeup look like this one, or some variation of it. Yes, I love to play with makeup. Yes, I change my look up often. The tried-and-true makeup look for me though is this one, which I call Natural Neutrals. It’s probably one of the fastest looks I’ve learned to perfect over the years, and it gives me just enough definition on my eyes and face that I look awake and like a “better version” of myself. I’m using the It Cosmetics “Naturally Pretty” Eyeshadow Trio which is basically the perfect tiny little eyeshadow palette for the natural beauty lover. It’s compact, it fits into any makeup bag easily, and you can create that gorgeously natural, defined eye look. Full pictorial inside!

The It Cosmetics “Naturally Pretty” Eyeshadow Trio is a group of 3 neutral shades, perfect for the natural look. What I like about this little trio is that the darkest brown shade is matte and the other two shades have a beautiful pearl finish to them. It’s perfect for creating a really natural daytime and office appropriate look, but you could also take this trio of eyeshadow shades and create a really sexy brown smokey eye with it. It really takes the guesswork out of doing makeup. As always, the formula on these are wonderful…soft, velvety smooth, pigmented, and they blend perfectly on the eye. It Cosmetics formulation is one of the best out there, especially if you’re concerned about aging skin or eye wrinkles. Their formulation is specifically meant to combat aging and not settle into fine lines.
Here’s the pictorial for this look:
Using an eyeshadow primer keeps everything in place on your eyelid and helps the colors to stand out more. I like to apply my crease color first and blend it out well and then apply my eyelid color. The flesh-toned eyeliner along the water-line is really helpful in opening up the eye and making it look wide and awake. The black eyeliner on the upper lash-line adds depth and dimension to your lashes, making them look thicker. I made sure to keep the eyeliner on the upper lash-line somewhat subtle, starting the line mostly from the halfway point of the eye and out.
What’s nice about this look is that anyone of any skin tone, eye color, or hair color can wear it. It’s a universally flattering look, and it’s perfect for daytime and nighttime. Why? Because you can get creative with your blush and lipstick! If you’re going out and want to dress this look up, you can add red lipstick or a bright pink shade to your lips. The possibilities really are endless, and this is one of the easiest looks to take from natural to dramatic.
You’ll notice that by focusing the eyeliner on the outer half of my eyes and winging it out slightly gives you that cat-eye, almond-shaped look. It’s a really quick, easy trick to give your eyes a different shape.
I kept my face makeup glowing with a dewy foundation and a pink blush. My lips are NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in “Hippie Chic.” It’s really the perfect daytime coral-pink.
The ultimate test is to take this look to natural light. You can see there are no harsh edges or lines, except for the subtle cat-liner on my upper lash-line, which makes my lashes appear thicker and fuller. The flesh-toned liner makes my eyes look brighter, bigger, and more awake. The socket of the eye has just enough definition to it where a natural shadow would fall. It’s enough to make your facial features stand out, but not enough to scream “I’M WEARING MAKEUP!”
The It Cosmetics “Naturally Pretty” Eyeshadow Trio is available Ulta stores nationwide, as well as online at It Cosmetics’ website. Each one retails for $24.00 USD.
