This nail look was featured in Seventeen Magazine, and Michelle from AllLacqueredUp originally posted the scoop behind what colors were achieved to create this look. I put a slightly different twist on this fun, fresh nail look by using a different China Glaze glitter topcoat. If you’d like to see swatches, and learn how to get this look,
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover is from the China Glaze Up & Away Collection, and is one of my top ten all-time favorite nail polish colors. It is an extremely pigmented green-based teal creme which has very bright undertones. It is probably one of the most difficult nail polishes to photograph because the color does not properly display on camera, compared with how it looks in person. The creme is bright, packs a big punch of color, and applies smoothly and evenly.
China Glaze Cleopatra is part of the China Glaze Specialty Collection , and is a gold glitter that reflects blue, green, and gold tones.
This is two coats of China Glaze Four Leaf Clover with one coat of China Glaze Cleopatra. I decided to use Cleopatra instead of China Glaze Medallion, as Medallion has chunks of silver glitter in it with gold, whereas Cleopatra is straight gold. I preferred the look of gold on top of Four Leaf Clover instead of a glitter with silver tones in it, but it is merely preference. I made sure to wipe off the brush when using Cleopatra so I did not get too opaque of a coat of the glitter. I wanted the gorgeous, rich, creamy color of Four Leaf Clover to really shine through. The glitter top coat does slightly change the pigment of Four Leaf Clover, turning it slightly more green and muted then when worn straight up.
While wearing this manicure, I got so many compliments and inquiries as to what color nail polish I was wearing. This is definitely a look that is unique for spring and summer manicures and pedicures. For me, personally, the best thing about this manicure is that it is a custom created polish look, and you aren’t likely to see others wearing anything like it!
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover and China Glaze Cleopatra can be purchased on Amazon for $3.95 and $3.99.
