I’ve been wanting to purchase some Makeup Geek Eyeshadow’s for quite some time now, and I was really excited when the Starter Kit came back in stock last week. Unfortunately, I hesitated just one day to purchase it and it was out of stock again, so I purchased all the shades in the Starter Kit minus Cocoa Bear (replacing it with “Country Girl” instead), and also added in Peach Smoothie, for a total of ten eyeshadow shades. I was excited to put them to the test since I just got them today. I put together a Light & Pretty eye makeup look for you using 4 of the shades. You can wear this during the daytime and even to the office. It’s not too heavy and you can do it in under five minutes. Full tutorial inside,
I put my eyeshadow shades inside of an empty magnetic palette from the Shea Moisture line at Target. It’s a massive magnetic palette that can hold any depotted makeup products. I want to use this solely for all of my Makeup Geek products that I end up purchasing. Here’s how to get this look:
- Apply Shade #1 (Peach Smoothie) to your socket and blend it upward toward your brow-bone generously. This is your transition shade and it is a gorgeous one at that.
- Apply Shade #2 (Country Girl) to the crease of your eye ONLY. Focus this shade where your eyes crease only to create some extra depth and dimension.
- Apply Shade #3 (Shimma Shimma) to the brow-bone and all over the eyelid. This shade will highlight your lid and brow-bone area and reflect light.
- Apply Shade #4 (Corrupt) to the upper lash-line. This is a very intense black eyeshadow, so a little goes a long way. Keep it close to your lash-line.
Apply mascara and you’re done! It’s a really simple, fast 5 minute look that would look great on anyone. It’s great for the daytime or even for the office. Since we’re using black eyeshadow as “eyeliner” along the upper lashes, the look stays sweet and soft looking.
So far, I absolutely adore every shadow I’ve touched. Shimma Shimma is great for the brow-bone, lid, and inner corners of the eyes because it has just the right amount of light reflecting shimmer to it. Peach Smoothie is a great socket shade and transition color. Country Girl goes really well in the crease without being too harsh. You can build the color up to be more intense, but if you only swipe it one or two times into the crease, you get a really soft gradient look. Corrupt is basically the BLACKEST black eyeshadow I have ever used. It’s very intense and a little goes a long way.
At $5.99 USD each, these Makeup Geek Eyeshadow’s are definitely a steal. I highly recommend them. All you need is your own empty magnetic palette to place them in, like a Z Palette or the Shea Moisture Palette at Target. Check out the full shade range here.

Could you post the dimensions of the palette? I can’t find them online anywhere. Thanks!

Sure Tabitha, it’s the empty magnetic palette from the Shea Moisture line at Target. It measures just slightly under 9.12″ x 6.53″ x 0.5″.
