The MAC Heavenly Creature Collection is one of the first collections in quite some time to really catch my attention. I am definitely a sucker for “swirly” makeup, not only because it looks pretty, but because I love mineral makeup in general. I ended up purchasing three different products from this collection, in three separate orders. I kept going back for “just one more thing,” and I am pleased with the three items I picked out. I ended up getting Center of the Universe Mineralize Skinfinish, Supernova Blush, and Venus Lipstick. I will swatch all three products in separate posts. Up right now is “Center of the Universe” MSF, which is a gorgeous coral bronze shade. Let’s get up close and personal with this gorgeous MSF,
Center of the Universe is described by MAC as a “coral with gold shimmer.” I would say that this leans far more on the orange-bronze side than coral, but it is still in the coral family, if that makes sense. It is a very warm color and I think this shade would be best on medium to dark skin tones that tend to lean warm. I’ve been all about the corals and oranges lately, so I personally love this MSF and the effect it gives. If you’re new to Mineralize Skinfinishes, they are a velvet-soft powder with a high-frost, metallic shimmer to them. They can be used as blush or as a highlight, though this shade is quite pigmented and would probably work best as a blush unless your skin tone is extremely dark.
When you swirl the shades together, the aesthetic swirl effect will get muddy looking and ruined, so enjoy the beauty of it before you swirl it together! I do love that MSF’s all have multi-dimensional colors in them.
The color is extremely beautiful. It is coral, orange, and bronze all in one, with gold shimmer to it. When it hits the light it is absolutely stunning. I thought this particular MSF had really great color payoff, so you don’t need much product for a lot of color. Keep in mind that all my swatches are applied heavily so you can really see the color.
In the above photo, I am wearing Center of the Universe on the apples of my cheeks, which I then blended backward toward my temples. The effect is a light, glowing coral-orange shade which I love. This will go great with all of the peachy and tangerine shades I have been wearing lately! I will be using this as a blush, and even to highlight my cheekbones with other coral blush products. I also think this MSF would make a particularly striking eyeshadow color and I intend to try it out!
