I purchased two shades from the Sephora by OPI Fall 2010 Collection, and they are “Rock His World,” and “Dating The Drummer.” I purchased these from swatches I saw on the Sephora website, and decided to swatch them here so you can preview before you buy, so
Rock His World is a deep cranberry shade. This color is completely sultry, sexy, and gorgeous. In the bottle, it looks like just another cranberry nail polish, but on the nails, it looks shiny, sophisticated, and rich.
I am typically not a huge fan of red nail polishes, including darkened reds, but this one has my heart. Just the way the shade hits the light and looks so luxurious…swoon!
Dating The Drummer is described on the website as “sheer warm walnut with fine holographic glitter.” I do think that is a pretty accurate description of the shade, but be warned, the “glitter” is more than just fine…it is almost non-existent. I was so disappointed by this shade when I received it, because the swatch on the website looks absolutely nothing like it. Do not get me wrong – there is not a single thing wrong with this shade. It is still very pretty, and the glitter (more like shimmer) is noticeable if you look really closely in sunlight, but overall, I would skip this polish if given the choice to do it over again. Of course, it will appeal to some nail polish lovers, so let’s take a look!
The swatch above is very misleading as to what the nail polish looks like in real life, and I do wish that Sephora would update their nail polish photographs to be more accurate and detailed in general.
Both of these shades applied well like most Sephora by OPI’s do. The swatches above are two coats, and each color was opaque and applied smoothly.
Sephora by OPI Nail Polish retails for $9 a bottle at Sephora stores exclusively nationwide. You can also browse and purchase these nail polishes at Sephora online by clicking the photographs and links below:
