I am currently on a week long vacation, and I always find it difficult to pick out what makeup products I want to pack with me for my trip. I never want to overdo it and bring too many, so I try to choose products that I consider my “everyday staples.” One of the products I always use is highlighter. I think a beautiful highlight on the cheekbones can make the face really come alive. One of my favorite highlighters in my entire collection is this Laura Geller Gilded Honey Illuminator. It’s silky smooth, soft, and leaves a stunning glow on your skin.

I purchased mine at Ulta Beauty and it basically looks like a large swirl through the middle of the product. It’s very smooth and silky in consistency and it glides onto your skin well. What I look for in a wonderful illuminator is that it is pigmented and has a formulation that blends well into your skin, rather than just sitting on top of it.

The highlighter itself is a caramel honey shade. I would say that Gilded Honey works best on light-medium skin tones to dark skin tones. If you are extremely fair, it may show up with too much color in it. I like to use a fan brush and lightly glide the product along my upper cheekbones and my temples. It creates glowing skin and makes you look really healthy. I also like to apply a tiny bit down the center of my nose and along my cupid’s bow.

When you angle your face or the light hits you just right, you get that gorgeous flash of light. It looks very natural and leaves you looking like a goddess. The smooth texture of the highlighter makes me feel confident about my skin, as well, since highlighters can sometimes exaggerate flaws on the skin. This really blends well, looks natural, and gives me the perfect glow that I love.
