The Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette was released just several days ago and I scooped it up in a heartbeat. I love the fact that it includes both metallic shimmer eyeshadow and flat, matte eyeshadow shades. I like to mix and match my finishes on a daily basis, so having the option in one palette is huge for me. Also, can we talk about how insanely gorgeous those metallic shades are?! They make me swoon. I’ve got full swatches and my thoughts inside,
The palette is way bigger than I thought it was going to be. There are 9 metallic shades and 13 matte shades in the palette so you are getting some serious bang for your buck. The only perceivable downside is that the palette is quite large and long in size, so it’s not very travel friendly. Since I’ll be leaving it on my vanity most of the time to do my own makeup, this isn’t a deal breaker for me.
I feel like photographs don’t even do this palette justice. The shimmers are ultra metallic and sparkly. The mattes are all rich in color both to the eye and in swatches. Speaking of swatches…
The metals in this palette are breathtakingly gorgeous. They were as pigmented as eyeshadow comes and they all have this incredible glimmer and shine to them. I love the range of shades and I cannot wait to start playing around with them!
Matte eyeshadows are trickier than any other kind of formula because they can often be chalky, too dry, or just flat out not pigmented. The mattes in this palette are perfection. They were insanely rich and pigmented and they weren’t chalky or chunky at all. The only shade I had a little trouble with was that yellow matte shade, which I felt could’ve been a lot brighter and more rich. The rest of the shades in this entire palette are an A+ for me.
This palette is part of Kat Von D’s Holiday 2016 releases and is limited edition. It retails for $60.00USD at Sephora stores nationwide and online at Sephora here. I have a feeling this is going to be a top-seller at Sephora!
As always, I’ll have some makeup looks coming for you this week using the palette.
