Hot pink matte lips, how I love thee. I just adore the way a hot pink lipstick looks when it doesn’t have a ton of shine and gloss to it. It’s sort of like playing Marilyn Monroe but with a younger, more fun color than your classic red. The LORAC Alter Ego Lipsticks are absolutely amazing. I knew right away that I needed to make Show Girl part of my collection when I swatched a bunch of the Alter Ego Lipsticks in store. These lipsticks are crazy pigmented, rich, and super creamy feeling. I’ve got full swatches inside and the details on my full makeup look!

Show Girl is a hot pink shade that is yellow-based, meaning you don’t have any blue or cool tones to it. The fact that it has neutral undertones is great news for every single person of every skin tone: it’s going to look great on you. These Alter Ego Lipsticks are incredible in every way. They are pigmented and rich in just one swipe and have very little shine to them, making them essentially matte. Most matte lipsticks are really drying though and these are wonderfully creamy on the lips. The formula is definitely an A+ in my book, and Show Girl is a classically beautiful hot pink.
This lipstick wears SO well. I can’t say enough good things about the formula and the wear time. To make these last even longer, I dust some translucent powder over my first coat of lipstick after blotting once, and then reapply. You’re guaranteed several straight hours of wear with these.
I love the way hot pink lipstick looks, not just on my lips, but on everyone! It really draws attention to not just the lips, but the eyes. My blue-green eyes stand out much more because of this shade, and the eyeliner I used helps too. I used Urban Decay’s 24/7 Liner in “Perversion” on my lower water-line and smoked it out with a brush. I also very lightly lined the upper lash-line to make my lashes look thicker. I kept my skin looking luminous by using my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette (my favorite).
LORAC Alter Ego Lipstick is available at Ulta and Sephora stores nationwide, as well as at Kohl’s stores. Each lipstick retails for $16.00 USD. There are many other shades available, so definitely take a look when you get a chance if you’re into lipstick like I am. The formula is fantastic and I wouldn’t mind adding a few more shades to my collection myself (including “Flower Child”). Click below to shop this post:
