Happy New Year! I had a really hard time narrowing down what I wanted to wear as my New Year’s Eve makeup. There was only one requirement: it had to be SPARKLY. I recently bought Makeup Geek’s “Utopia” Pigment and decided to give it a whirl for my NYE makeup look. It is a stunning pigment, from the intense metallic color it puts down to the flashes of light it reflects from every single angle. I’ve got the full look inside!
The eyes are all Makeup Geek’s Pigment in “Utopia.” It made this look. I highly recommend it if you’ve been considering purchasing it, or if you’ve been looking for an extra sparkly metallic shade. I used the pigment wet over my entire eyelid and along my lower lash-line. I find that this pigment works best when you wet your brush, as it comes out much more intense looking. I used a matte mauve brown shade in my crease just for some definition there. I added loads of black eyeliner to my lower water-line and upper lash-line, and then topped it off with mascara.
“Utopia” just gleams and sparkles in such a unique way. You’re going to keep looking at your eye makeup in the mirror constantly…it’s that pretty. You always need some sparkle for New Year’s Eve!
I kept my face makeup simple, but perfected. It’s all about contouring the hollows of your cheeks and along your nose, and adding a gorgeous highlight along your cheekbones, down the middle of your nose, and along your brow-bones. This gives you that J.Lo/Kim Kardashian glow that just looks so healthy and pretty. I kept my lipstick nude so it wouldn’t compete with the eye makeup.
I had a fantastic New Year’s Eve with family and friends at home. I hope you all had a fun and memorable way to ring in the New Year. Thanks for being with me for another year of Beauty Gala. May 2014 be the best year yet!
