I have been absolutely loving all of these skin product reviews lately. I have been feeling very confident in the way my skin looks, both on my body and my face. I know it’s been because of a combination of some wonderful skincare products! Today I have Emmaus Smiling Beads Body Wash and Emmaus Softness Bliss Body Lotion for you. Both of these products are special because they were created with Keratosis Pilaris in mind. The founder, Aminah Sagoe, has KP, or what is known as “chicken skin.” It is when you have goose bump type of appearance on the skin. I personally have KP on the back of arms, and while it’s not horribly noticeable, it is definitely something that *I* notice and want to get rid of. These products are also great for body acne, ingrown hairs, uneven complexions, scaly skin, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.
Emmausis pronounced “uh-may-us” and is associated with resurrection, rebirth, and revelation for centuries. The owner believes in basically restoring and healing your skin with these products in mind. I was super excited to put these to the test because I think we all have skin issues, whether large or small in our own minds, that we feel self-conscious about and want to fix.
Today I have the Smiling Beads Body Wash and the Softness Bliss Body Lotion for you. I will show you each and explain the scent, formulation, ingredients, and my thoughts on both of them.
The Smiling Beads Body Washis formulated with Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Pumice Powder, and Sunflower Seed Wax to promote the exfoliation. Exfoliation is so important, even on your body. A lot of people exfoliate the skin on their face but not on their body, and it is important to get rid of all those dead skin cells on your body parts as well! It also has Aloe Vera Juice in it to create a soothing experience, and soothing is just the tip of the iceberg. I adore this body wash because it has a pump dispenser and both cleanses and exfoliates my skin well.
A little bit goes a long way to creating a beautiful lather for your entire body. This body wash is meant to help treat Keratosis Pilaris (KP), psoriasis, eczema, body acne, dark spots and discoloration. All of the products are paraben-free and created from natural ingredients which I really appreciate. It doesn’t have much of a scent, which is great for those of you with skin conditions and those who have sensitive skin. A small amount of this body wash on my loofah gives me my body a gorgeous glow.
The Softness Bliss Body Lotion is a rich moisturizer loaded up with Baobab, Sunflower, Coconut, and Grape Seed Oil. Like the body wash, it contains Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid to slough away dry, dead skin cells. This is also formulated to treat Keratosis Pilaris (KP), psoriasis, eczema, body acne, dark spots and discoloration on the skin.
The lotion itself is very emollient and rich. One or two pumps is all you need for a large surface area of your body. It absorbs well into the skin and it smells heavenly, like a mixture of fresh lemon and citrus fruit. My skin feels super smooth and soft after using this lotion. Emmaus does not recommend using this lotion immediately after shaving your legs, and that is most likely because the ingredients may end up stinging your skin after you shave (which removes dead skin cells and opens up hair follicles). I have found this lotion to be very gentle on my skin, however, and I haven’t had any irritation with it.
I’ve noticed an improvement on the bumps I have on the back of my arms, as well as a general improvement of the skin on my chest, neck, and collarbone area. I’ve actually gotten compliments from my family who see me often, saying that the skin along my neck, chest, and collarbone area looks smooth, bronzed, and glowing. Mission accomplished!
The Emmaus Smiling Beads Body Wash and the Softness Bliss Body Lotion are available online at the Emmaus website. The body wash retails for $60.00USD for 10.14fl oz and the body lotion retails for $65.00USD for 10.14fl oz of product.
If you have issues with the skin on your body or feel self-conscious about Keratosis Pilaris (KP), psoriasis, eczema, body acne, dark spots and/or discoloration, it’s worth giving these products a shot!
