Tonight my little sister and I had a “girls night in” where we just watched bad reality TV shows and did our nails up for the Fourth of July. We love to do themed manicures, so we both did something different. I have to confess, it had been awhile since I’ve done any kind of nail art, and I forgot how much your ability goes down when you haven’t done it in awhile! So, aside from not being perfect, they are most definitely fun, bright, bold, and most importantly, patriotic.
For my look, I painted my entire nail with a white nail polish. Then I took a bright blue polish and swiped it across the tips of my nails only. Then, I used a striping brush to apply red stripes from the white polish to where the blue polish started. I used a silver glitter color to separate the white and red from the blue tips and finished it off by adding white dots onto the blue tips. You can use absolutely any polishes you have in your collection as long as they are red, white, and blue! Have fun with your patriotic manicure!
Mine certainly didn’t come out perfect, but they’re very American and they make me happy!
My little sister, Destinee, who is sixteen, did her nails with a bit of a red, white, and blue flair. She remarked that they reminded her of “Pepsi.” She did a nice array of fun designs using our national colors. The important part is to have fun with your nails…you can do polka dots, an accent nail, stars and stripes, add rhinestones or stars, or just alternate red, white, and blue on your nails. The possibilities are endless!
Happy Independence Day to our beautiful country, the United States of America! May you have a safe and fun holiday.

Those nails are so cute! Right now I have For Audrey as a base coat and a rainbow glitter top coat. It reminded me of fireworks.
I absolutely LOVE “For Audrey.” It has to be hands-down my favorite China Glaze color, and definitely one of my favorite all-time colors. So pretty! Enjoy your Fourth of July!
