If you’re in the beauty community, you probably already know about Dose of Colors, an amazing cosmetic brand started by a beautiful young woman who really enjoyed the artistic side of makeup. Right now, they sell lipstick, lip gloss, and lashes. The lip products are a massive hit and have been selling out like hotcakes. There are still several products I want to purchase from the website, and I’ve been anxiously checking to see when they will come back in stock. As of right now, the Dose of Colors Instagram is saying sometime in April, but I just couldn’t contain myself any longer, so I went ahead and purchased Karma, which was one of the few lipsticks in stock. I have to be completely honest when I tell you that I have no idea how Karma has even managed to stay in stock. The hype that this brand is generating is completely genuine.

 

 

 

The packaging on the Dose of Colors lipstick is really nice. It’s fun and I love the white packaging because it stands out against all of my other lipsticks. I also like that you can see the color of the lipstick on the bottom, which helps me grab for the right shade without having to read the name of the lipstick on the bottom of the packaging.

 

 

 

Karma is an electrified coral red-orange shade. It’s absolutely STUNNING. This lipstick is everything I could ever want and more. It’s extremely pigmented and opaque. One swipe of this product will put down more than enough product. It’s creamy, smooth, and feels hydrating on the lips. I love supporting “indie” makeup brands, that is, start-ups by women like you and me who know what makes a great product.

 

 

 

Karma is a really unique color in that it is sort of coral and orange at the same time, but it also has red tones in it that keep it really bright. It looks different depending on the lighting.

 

 

 

 

 

I paired Karma with some major cat eyeliner. I decided to apply a shimmering beige shade over my entire eyelid, with a very slight swipe of matte brown in the crease. I applied Inglot’s AMC Gel Liner in #77 on my upper lash-line and winged it out dramatically.

 

 

 

 

 

The finished effect is sort of a modern day “electro-bright” take on the pin-up makeup look. It really makes blue and green eyes stand out in contrast. I love this lipstick so, so much and I cannot wait until the other shades come back in stock so I can scoop them up! I also want some of the lip glosses as well. Dose of Colors has me with a very long wish list now!

 

 

 

Dose of Colors sells lipstick, lip gloss, and lashes online. Each lipstick retails for $16.00 USD, and Karma is still in stock here. They sell their lipstick and glosses individually, but they also offer a bundle, which is every single shade. A lot of their products are currently on back-order, with an anticipated date of April 2014 of them coming back in stock. I personally think Dose of Colors is going to be a huge brand, and I highly recommend their products. I can’t wait to see what they will release next!
