Just a super quickie post today on a lipstick I’ve been meaning to add to my collection for what seems like forever. MAC “Heroine” Lipstick used to be limited edition, but they made it part of their permanent collection a few months ago. I was really excited and meant to add it to my collection, but just got around to doing so recently. It’s a gorgeous purple matte shade that is definitely not for the shy. I love the matte finish on this one…it keeps the look edgy and surprisingly, the matte finish doesn’t feel too dry on my lips!
What I like about Heroine is that you can wear it semi-sheer, with just a swipe or two on your lips, or you can really layer it on and make it dark and opaque. Depending on the lip liner you pair it with, you can create a completely different look altogether. These pictures are without any lip liner on. It’s a very true violet shade. It’s definitely trendy right now and a huge statement piece of makeup.
I didn’t have any problems with the formula at all. Like I said, for a matte lipstick shade, this one didn’t feel as dry as usual. I also like how this shade stays put for hours and hours, even when it rubs off a little bit. It really makes blue and green eyes stand out and it looks gorgeous against brown and hazel eyes (as most purple shades do!). I definitely recommend checking this one out if you’re into bold, unique lip colors. It’s available at MAC counters nationwide and online at MAC’s website.
