I usually have an aversion to showing products that are no longer available, but since these products and shades are very much easy to match with ones you may have in your makeup bag, I decided to post it anyway. Benefit’s “The Sexy Steal” Kit was part of their “21 Days of Beauty” event at Ulta, and it may be offered again in the future, so it is still worth promoting in my eyes. I love the look of neutral shades with an unexpected touch of smokiness, a bronzed cheek, and nude lips. It’s a makeup look that suits everyone and manages to look very sexy.

The kit itself was a limited product for Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty event which they have every year. It came with two Velvet Eyeshadow shades and a gorgeous Ultra Shine Lip Gloss.
“Raining Men,” on the left is a really interesting eyeshadow shade. In the packaging it looks like a darkened teal-green shade. When you apply it, it almost looks like a darkened grey with hints of blue-green. It’s hard to describe, but it’s definitely a different shade that I was excited to use with the second color in the kit. “Tickled Mink” is a champagne-pink shimmer shade that manages to be perfectly neutral and flattering for any skin tone. It makes the perfect highlight shade for your lower lash-line, brow-bone, and the inner corners of your eyes. Both eyeshadow shades were super soft and pigmented.
The kit also came with an Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in “Life On The A List.” This is your classic nude-pink lip gloss that just so happens to be quite pigmented. I liked that it wasn’t sticky and it was very moisturizing feeling. A little of this goes a long way, so you only need one swipe of the applicator to put down a lot of product. The shimmer in this makes your lips appear much larger than they actually are.
I used the neutral mink shade over my entire eyelid and also applied it along my lower lash-line. This is such a pretty shade that you can easily find a dupe for, even at the drugstore. It’s soft, yet pigmented, and perfect for wearing on a daily basis, even to the office. I used the darker teal-grey shade (see how much more grey it actually looks on the eye?) in the crease of my eye and blended it out well so there were no harsh edges. It’s very neutral colored, with no metallic or glitter in it. The eyeshadow colors are shimmery, but not overly so, making this a great option for a daytime smoky eye. You may want to leave the black eyeliner off your waterline if you wear this during the day to keep it less dramatic. Since I went out for my mom’s birthday last night, I added the black eyeliner in for more drama.
I really like the way the cool tones of the crease shade look against the warmer shade of the eyelid. Not every eye makeup look has to have all cool or all warm tones together!
I used “Life On The A List” Lip Gloss, which needed just a tiny swipe for major color. I was impressed with how shimmery and nude-pink this made my naturally pigmented lips. It’s a beautiful, timeless shade that goes perfectly with a dramatic eye look.
I kept my face makeup very neutral, with just a bit of bronzer and contouring of my cheeks.
As I said, if you leave out the black eyeliner on the lower part of my eye, you have a really pretty look for the daytime that is still smoky and defines your eyes, but isn’t over the top. You can easily transition it from daytime to nighttime by packing a black eyeliner in your makeup bag!
