I have been enrolled in the CVS Beauty Club now for years and their rewards program is what always keeps me coming back to CVS to shop for the latest and greatest makeup collections at the drugstore. Plus, I have to admit, there’s something really fun about walking in, scanning your CVS card and waiting to see what interesting and surprising coupons come out. You can save so much money by shopping at CVS, which is why I do almost all of my drugstore beauty shopping there. CVS provided a gift card for me to do the Happy New You Challenge, which is where I come up with my 2015 Beauty Resolutions and then purchase several products at CVS to go along with my resolutions. Not only am I going to share with you the incredible benefits of the CVS Beauty Club, but they have also agreed to give away a $50 GIFT CARD to one lucky winner! Keep reading to find out my beauty resolutions, what products I picked out, and then enter to win!
THE CVS BEAUTY CLUB AND WHAT IT IS:
Above are the benefits of joining the CVS Extracare Beauty Club. You can enroll online by completing a form. You get $5 ExtraBucks rewards for every $50 you spend, which adds up quickly. I cannot tell you how many wonderful ExtraBucks I have gotten just in the past few months alone. I simply walk into the store, scan my card, and the coupons print themselves out right there on the spot. I’ve also gotten several ExtraBucks back after checking out at the register. Other benefits include:
- CVS/pharmacy regularly launches new beauty products from leading brands, including dermatologist-approved brands in the Healthy Skincare Center and exclusive to CVS/pharmacy brands like the NEW Makeup Academy collection, the Essence of Beauty fragrance, bath and body line, and the Nuance Salma Hayek beauty collection.
- Risk-free shopping! They offer a 100% satisfaction Beauty Guarantee on beauty purchases! If you’re dissatisfied for any reason, you can return the beauty product (opened or unopened) along with your receipt to any CVS/pharmacy store. They’ll refund the full purchase price — no questions asked!
- In-store, beauty shoppers can receive personalized consultations and product advice from Beauty Consultants.
- Online, beauty shoppers/fans can access deals, expert how-tos, beauty giveaways, etc. at CVS.com, Facebook.com/CVSBeautyClub and Twitter.com/CVSBeautyClub.
I LOVE the risk-free shopping experience at CVS. If you purchase something and you find out that the color, shade, or formula just doesn’t work for you, you can return it even if you’ve used it as long as you have a receipt. They will refund you the full price and not ask any questions. The return policy is wonderful and it makes you feel a lot better about buying from CVS.
MY 2015 BEAUTY RESOLUTIONS:
CVS provided me with $50 to go out and purchase products that align with my “2015 Beauty Resolutions.” Here’s what I ended up picking out and why:
BEAUTY RESOLUTION #1: MOISTURIZE MY LIPS EVERY DAY. It’s winter, I just got over a nasty cold, and I run outside in this weather often. Between all of these factors, my lips are a cracked nightmare and it hurts. I tend not to be faithful about putting lip balm on. It’s not that I intentionally forget, it’s just not something I prioritize and my resolution is to make it a priority. I bought this super tiny, adorable Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy which is essentially their petroleum jelly with a rosy tint to it. The packaging is adorably cute and fits easily into any makeup bag or pocket and because it looks different than your average stick lip balm, I actually remember to put it on every single day now. The unique packaging catches my eye and I’ve been putting it on every single morning as part of my “wake up” routine.
BEAUTY RESOLUTION #2: WEAR BLUSH! I know this sounds crazy because I’m a makeup artist and blogger, but I actually don’t purchase or wear blush often. Out of all the possible beauty products, I have the least amount of blush. I just tend not to gravitate toward cheek colors and I often stick to my typical contour and bronzer. My resolution is to actually look at blushes this year and expand my collection a little bit. I purchased these L’oreal Visible Lift Blushes, both in gorgeous coral shades, and they have the neatest texture ever. They’re squishy and soft, and they are ultra pigmented. I’ve actually been popping blush onto my cheeks this year as part of my makeup routine thanks to these.
BEAUTY RESOLUTION #3: GIVE PRIMER A CHANCE. I’m a big face primer gal in theory, but I never give face primers enough of a chance to love or hate them. I end up buying a face primer, using it once, and then stashing it away somewhere. I decided to give this new Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer a chance since it had great reviews online. I’ve kept this out on my vanity and faithfully picked it up every single day now. I love the finish this gives me, because it’s luminous and hydrates my skin, but it also helps my foundation “stick” to my face and makes it last for hours upon hours. I like that it doesn’t have that slippery, silicone feel to it like many other primers do. It’s essentially a moisturizer and a primer in one for my face.
BEAUTY RESOLUTION #4: WEAR LONG-LASTING FOUNDATION. Okay, so the truth is, I’m a busy woman and you probably are busy too. Some days I have my makeup on for anywhere from 12-15 hours and through my daily workout. My resolution was to specifically find long-wearing foundations that are meant to stay put for the entire day. These two, Rimmel’s Lasting Finish 25hr and L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24hr, both claim to stay put and not budge for an entire day or more. So far, they’ve been wearing wonderfully on my oily/combo skin, even throughout a long day and tough workouts.
BEAUTY RESOLUTION #5: WEAR INFALLIBLE LIP COLORS. I picked up this L’oreal Infallible Lip Color in “Captivated By Cerise” because I wanted a lip product that I could stick on and not worry about throughout the day. It has two sides: the actual lip color and then a balm to hydrate your lips. This product does not budge until you use an oil-based makeup remover at the end of the day. You can eat, drink, kiss, and wipe your lips all you want, but it’s staying put. The result? Less fawning over reapplying lip products and more time actually living life.
I put all my new “2015 Beauty Resolution” products together and came up with the look above. It has really helped to simplify my makeup and beauty routine. Want to hear the greatest part of all, though? The last 3 times I checked out at CVS, I received ExtraBucks back immediately. Going to spend this $50 gift card, I had $5 ExtraBucks that printed out for me at the beginning of the trip. After checking out, I received $10 ExtraBucks back, then I went back to spend the ExtraBucks and got another $10 back, which I still haven’t used. CVS does promotions where certain brands and products will give you ExtraBucks back and I had chosen the right ones. Who doesn’t love getting money back to spend?

I moisturize my face every morning after my shower, but lately I’ve been looking into applying something with retinol in it. I don’t apply it too much and so far I haven’t broken out or anything. I would love to do more exfoliating! I have also been doing some facial yoga! Now if I could only find the motivation to do yoga for the rest of me! 🙂 I’m also taking my multivitamin and a biotin supplement. (I’m in my early 40’s so all this is really concerning to me!) Thanks!
Good luck to all!
