OPI has launched its seventh annual limited edition Pink of Hearts set, featuring the classic sheer pink shade “Pink-ing of You” and the new sparkle-packed hue “More than a Glimmer.” Pink of Hearts 2013 also includes pink ribbon and crystal decals to embellish nails. In 2013, OPI will donate $25,000 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) to Susan G. Komen®. OPI will also donate $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada.
OPI is proud to support Susan G. Komen and Rethink Brest Cancer with the seventh annual Pink of Hearts promotion,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI co-founder & Artistic Director. I encourage women to create and customize their own Pink of Hearts manicure, wearing these colors as a visible way to honor everyone whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
I love the 2013 Pink of Hearts set. They have decided to branch out and add a new nail polish in the set which happens to be a really gorgeous glitter and they added in pink ribbon and crystal decals, which are great for showing awareness to the cause. I know that many of you have been affected by breast cancer, either directly, or through a family member or friend. It’s important to not only raise awareness and money towards research, but also remember to get your mammogram’s and do self check-ups of your breasts to feel for any abnormalities. Early detection is key.

More Than A Glimmer is the glitter shade in the set. It is meant to have a “vinyl” texture to it, almost matte but still sparkling. You can use a topcoat over it if you’d like, of course, but I did swatch it without a topcoat for this post. It’s a really pretty shade that has various sized glitter in it of all different colors. It kind of reminds me of confetti at a birthday party.
The formula on “More Than A Glimmer” was a tad thick, but two coats of this glitter and you get a pretty opaque look. I like that the glitter dispersed evenly.
Pink-ing Of You is a classic pastel pink shade. This is a timeless pink shade that will never go out of style. It applies semi-sheer at first, but can be perfectly opaque in three coats. I found this shade to be a bit on the thin side, so be careful not to grab too much on your brush. Overall, this is a really gorgeous shade to have in your collection.
The set also comes with some pink ribbon and rhinestone decals, so you can create your own customized BCA manicure.
I applied a ribbon on one finger and applied one of the rhinestones right in the middle of the ribbon to add a bit of sparkle.
