Beauty Gala recently did an article on Milani Runway Eyes palette in “Haute Couture,” a colorful, playful palette featuring six eyeshadows. With this palette, we did a fun eye makeup look that is playful and bold, but still feminine and demure. To see more photographs and how to achieve this look,
First, be sure to use a good eyeshadow base or primer. I used NYX Eyeshadow Base in White so the bright colors would really pop. Next, sweep the white shade from the inner corners of your eyes, across the entire eyelid to seal the base in.
Second, apply the fuchsia pink, third from the top, to the inner corners of the eyes, blending upwards. This is going to add definition to the purple on the eye, and really make the look pop.
Third, apply the medium purple shade (top color) across the lid, blending with the fuchsia.
Fourth, apply the dark purple, second from the top, in a windshield wiper motion across the entire crease of the eye, and into the outer third of the eye. Blend well.
Fifth, apply the yellow gold shade in the palette to the entire bottom lash line. This is our unexpected bold pop of color in the look. It is unexpected, and isn’t “matchy-matchy” but still works well with the purples.
Last, curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.
Viola! Playful Haute Couture eye makeup.
For my cheeks, I kept it extremely neutral, and applied LORAC Baked Matte Satin Blush in “Plush.”
For my lips, I applied clear lip balm, and then dabbed on a tiny bit of MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream in #5 – Peach.
Milani Runway Eyes in “Haute Couture,” the center of this look, retails for $8.99 at local drugstores. You can also browse and purchase this palette online by clicking the photograph below:
