The second half of the Summer 2015 collections from Zoya is the Zoya Paradise Sun Collection. There are six nail polish shades total and each of them has a metallic or jelly shimmer in them. I’ve got full swatches of the collection inside,
This collection has six bright and light shades of polish for the summer, with all of them containing a shimmer of some kind in them. I love Zoya’s shimmer polishes because they are usually absolutely fantastic in formula.
SWATCHES:
Genesis is a white with crystallized pearl shimmer inside of it. Let’s get the bad news out of the way first. I am only giving this polish one photograph because I honestly just couldn’t get this polish to work for me. It was on the sheer side and a bit too thick, so it felt goopy on my nails. I think if you’re looking for a one or two coat sheer white shimmer for the office or for a wedding, this could work for you. Otherwise, I found it difficult to work with. The good news is that this is the ONLY shade in the collection that I felt lacked in formulation, so let’s continue…
Selene is a metallic teal shimmer that is absolutely spectacular. It looks like the clearest sparkling emerald water you can imagine, but on your fingernails. It had a great formula and was opaque in just two coats.
Oceane is another stunning metallic shade, this time a true sky blue with bits of shimmer in it. The formula was opaque in two coats and was perfect. This shade is so beautiful and looks even prettier in person.
Isa is a blue-based purple metallic shimmer. It is very much a true violet shade, in that it looks blurple (blue-purple). This shade was rich and opaque in one coat, but I did two just to be safe. Of course as a purple lover, you know I absolutely adore this one. It has the most spectacular bits of bright purple and blue shimmer in it that light up.
Mae is a warm fuchsia pink with really noticeable bits of shimmer in it. This is such a classic shade that never goes out of style. The formula on this was excellent and it only needed two coats. The shimmer sits in a semi-jelly base, meaning it looks like it is underneath the polish shade, rather than sitting on top of it. It’s a really neat shade and a beautiful color for those who prefer classic nail polish.
Aphrodite is a bright poppy red with a jelly shimmer in it. Just like “Mae,” the shimmer seems to be suspended underneath or within the polish color instead of sitting on top of it. It’s a really gorgeous effect and it looks perfect with the bright poppy red color. This is a surprising favorite of mine from the entire collection! This only needed two coats and it was perfect.

Overall, with the exception of “Genesis,” which I just felt I couldn’t get to look nice on my nails after several tries, every polish in this collection has a beautiful formulation. “Genesis” was sheer and thick on my nails. All of the other five shades were opaque in two coats and were absolutely gorgeous. If you’re a fan of shimmer and/or brights, you’re going to love this collection.
The Zoya Paradise Sun Collection is part of Zoya’s Summer 2015 releases and contains the six shades you see in this post. Each nail polish retails for $9.00USD, or you can purchase the entire set for $54.00USD here. You can also find these at Ulta stores nationwide.
