When I think of blush shades, I think your choice can drastically change the look of your overall makeup and face. Pink is sweet and feminine and can give a doll-like appearance. Enter NARS Blush in Seduction. Opposite side of the spectrum from pink blush, this wine colored blush is alluring, captivating, and glamorous. When I brush this shade onto my cheeks, I instantly feel that my makeup says “sophistication.” Much like the name of the blush implies, this is a shade that will give you a more “grown-up” looking flush. With Valentine’s Day coming up, this is also the perfect alternative to pink and peach colored blush. To see swatches and how it looks on my cheeks,
I talk about NARS Cosmetics all the time because I really have a love affair with their products. It is my goal to meet Francois Nars one day and have my copy of his book autographed by him. I love his makeup techniques and I am constantly staying up to date with what NARS is doing on the red carpet and runways. Since Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week is currently taking place for Fall 2013, I have been loving all the updates from NARS on Instagram and Facebook about the looks that are gracing the runway. It gives us a special sneak-peek into the makeup and beauty trends that will be hot later this year.
Seduction is a sangria colored blush. The wine color is absolutely gorgeous, both in the packaging and once swatched. It has full, rich pigmentation in just one swipe, as well, so you only need to very lightly dip your brush into the product. I love that they decided to release this shade for spring, too. You can still wear darker shades like this all spring and summer long, and NARS is breaking the “rule” that spring makeup has to be fresh and light.
In terms of pigmentation and formula, you just don’t get any better than NARS blushes. There is a reason why their “Orgasm” blush has been one of the best-selling and most widely cherished blushes ever. The powder is silky smooth and soft, and you only need to pick up a tiny bit of product on your brush to lay down fantastic color.
The shade has a bit of shimmer to it…just enough that it will make your cheeks glow and give you that “lit from within” look.
Above, I am wearing “Seduction” on my cheeks. You can see it’s a wonderful choice for eyeshadow shades like green and blue, because it manages to fall into the “neutral” family and doesn’t clash. It gives me that sophisticated flush that looks like I just came back from a hot date!
Overall: Who says wine colored blush can’t be worn during the warmer months? This is now one of my favorite NARS blushes, and I love that I will be able to wear it year round. Universally flattering, anyone from very light skin to very dark skin can wear this shade and pull it off. This is a classic shade, that, while trendy, will also never go out of style.
