I’ve slowly but surely been replacing products in my skincare and daily beauty routine that are eco-conscious and all natural. When these arrived at my doorstep, I was definitely smiling to myself. Sometimes you just find a beauty product that nails everything, from the packaging to the ergonomic design to the product itself. Soap and Paper Factory Shea Lip Butters do all of those things. Housed in gorgeously vibrant but vintage tins, these come in Limoncello, Mint Julep, and Blood Orange. The packaging is extremely chic and catches your eye right away. I’ve got my full review inside and plenty more photographs of these little all natural beauties!
THE VINTAGE PACKAGING:
The packaging. We have to talk about the packaging first and foremost. If I was in a store, these would catch my eye immediately. They are in old-fashioned lip balm tins and the bright vintage patterns and designs perfectly capture each flavor and scent. These are adorable to tote around with you and they are a pleasure to store in your bathroom or on your vanity. They are visually extremely appealing and Soap and Paper Factory did a fantastic job with their packaging. Not only do these look lovely on the outside, but they are surprisingly ergonomic.
THE FUNCTIONAL DESIGN:
Many times when I have purchased lip balms or tints in these tins, you have to pull and squeeze and twist until you’ve struggled to get them open. These easily pop open and straight up and back, almost like a powder compact. Each tin comes with a mirror! How cool is that? I was so impressed that each lip balm has a little round mirror in it. It is absolutely genius and so useful to have in your handbag with you. Yet again, I was impressed with how innovative these are, not just aesthetically, but functionally.
THE FLAVORS/SCENTS:
Limoncello is made with shea butter and pure essential oils. The ingredients are easily readable on the back, and you can see that there is an emphasis on everything being all natural in these products. If you’re a fan of citrus, Limoncello drinks, or you want something very summery, this is a great choice. It smells softly of lemon and reminds me of sunshine.
Mint Julep is made with shea butter and essential oils as well, except this one has an invigorating blast of mint to it. I love the way minty fresh lip balms feel on my lips, especially during the hot months of the year. Mint Julep is perfect for after a day at the beach or in the sun, or after a workout. It’s a great energizing scent that isn’t too strong and doesn’t burn on your lips at all.
Blood Orange is made with shea butter and essential oils just like the others, but this one is mouth-watering! It smells like an orange, of course, but it’s very fresh and sweet. This is the only one out of the 3 that has a tint to it, but the tint does not show up on your lips as opaque or colored. I personally love blood oranges and they had an abnormally short season this year, so this one is my personal favorite. It is a very unique scent and flavor to add to a lip balm.
THE FORMULA:
All of these will go on your lips clear, but a tiny bit goes a very long way. I was able to dip my finger into these just slightly and easily cover my lips for hours. These feel so nice on your lips! The formulation isn’t too thick and it’s not goopy or sticky at all. It feels quite lightweight, which is nice for the hot summer months ahead.
Overall, I’m extremely impressed with the Soap and Paper Factory Shea Lip Butters. This is my first experience with the company and I have nothing but positive things to say about their products. The packaging is aesthetically pleasing and eye catching, but still functional and ergonomic. The formulation is perfect and there is a scent and flavor for everyone.
