This Pur Minerals “Beautiful Creatures” Palette really gives you the option of going light or dark, which is something I think every great palette should have. There are neutral shades, as well as some violets and a mossy green shade. The mix of shades is fantastic and you can choose to go for a dramatic smoky look, or keep it simple and natural. Inside I’ve got full swatches of the palette, as well as a little makeup look I put together using it!

This palette is inspired by the film “Beautiful Creatures” which was released in February of this year. I haven’t personally seen the film, but I have seen the trailer and cover pictures, and it seems like this palette really represents the film perfectly.
There are eight eyeshadow shades, one lip gloss, one eyeliner, and an eyeshadow brush in this kit.
The lip gloss is very neutral colored. It’s sort of a light nude-pink shade and it’s non-sticky.
What’s nice is that you can go full on bombshell siren with this palette or keep it really natural and use the lightest shades. I like to have the option of doing both when I’m using an eyeshadow palette, especially if I’m bringing it along with me for travel.
Supernatural is a beige champagne gold with shimmer, Siren is a shimmering mossy green shade.
Spellbound is an off-white and has a fairly matte finish, Fate is a shimmering chocolate brown.
Fantasy is a shimmering dark violet, Secret is a matte lavender.
Forbidden is a medium shimmering brown, Cursed is a very dark grape-purple that almost looks black.
THE LOOK: For this makeup look, I applied “Fate” over my entire eyelid. I used “Fantasy” in the crease and blended it out well. To smoke it out, I applied “Cursed” along the outer-third of my eye. I did these same steps with my lower lash-line to tie it all together. I applied “Spellbound” to my brow-bone for a matte highlight. I added some black liner and curled my lashes.
The finished look makes my eyes look much more on the green side because of the mauve and violet shades I used.
Overall, I love this palette. The eyeshadow shades were highly pigmented and soft. They were very easy to blend and apply on the actual eyes, as well. You get a nice variety of shades, whether you want a really natural look or a dramatic look. The eyeshadow is powdery and doesn’t cake up, so you get a super smooth, youthful effect when you apply these.
The Pur Minerals “Beautiful Creatures” Palette is limited edition and can be found at Ulta stores nationwide (Store Locator Tool here). Each palette retails for $39.00 USD. You can also purchase this palette directly from the Pur Minerals website for $29.00. Though this is limited edition, I’ve still seen it in stock at my local Ulta stores!
