You just don’t get any cooler than Lime Crime’s packaging. I remember the first time I saw the holographic unicorn against the bright purple lipstick bullet and I couldn’t help but shriek a little at how cute it was. One of the brand new Lime Crime Opaque Lipsticks is Babette, which was released on July 15th. I have had my eye on this lipstick since the spring, when it was teased as “coming this summer” on the site. If you love peachy, coral, nude lipstick shades, you’re going to be in heaven with me…
Seriously. Look at the packaging. I consider myself to be a weird person. I like geeky things, I like glitter and things that some people might think are over-the-top. The packaging is amazing. Purple is my favorite color, I adore unicorns, and I love holographic things. It’s basically all of my favorite things in one. In general, Lime Crime makes makeup that has a “fantasy” theme to it. They’re not afraid of color, especially pastels and brights, and all of the shots of their collections are very whimsical.
Babette is a light pastel coral shade. What attracted me most to this shade versus all the other nude pinks I own is the coral tones in it. I have plenty of nude beige and nude pink shades, but this one has really gorgeous peachy-coral tones in it that make it very flattering and unique. This is my ideal lip color for topping off a really heavy or dramatic eye makeup look, especially a smoky eye. I’m already dreaming of sparkling, shimmery black smoky eyes and this lipstick together!
As far as opacity goes, you don’t get better than this. I’ve never had a single problem with any of my Lime Crime products. Everything from their lipsticks to their eyeshadow has been insanely rich and pigmented in color. It’s another thing that Lime Crime does well, and I like knowing they always have opaque products. Babette needed a single swipe to be completely opaque. The formula felt moisturizing and not dry at all.
This is the perfect pastel coral nude lip color. It’s so flattering against my skin tone. It’s light without looking chalky or making my skin look green (because of olive undertones). It’s going to be flattering on a variety of skin tones, and because it’s so opaque, you can wear it during the day or at night. I’m definitely happy I purchased this one!
Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick in “Babette” is currently available at Lime Crime’s website online. Each lipstick retails for $15.99 USD. This lipstick is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. If the website at any time says “SOLD OUT” of a certain product or shade, simply check back each day, as they are constantly restocking products. I’m also a huge fan of their Velvetines, which apply like a lip gloss and dry down to a budge-proof matte finish.
