I used to be the kind of gal that shied away from wearing blue eyeshadow. I find myself wearing it more often on my eyelids now, and I adore the way it looks with a peach blush and a pale lip shade. It adds a pop of color, a little something different, but it can still look sophisticated and sexy…not like you just stepped out of the 80’s. The Laura Mercier “Summer In St. Tropez” Baked Eye Colour Quad is part of their New Attitude Collection, and it’s all about bringing something bright and bold to the table that is a little different than usual. I’ve got the full look inside!

Summer In St. Tropez is a quad of 4 eyeshadow shades: 3 blues and a chocolate brown. Each eyeshadow is baked and can be intensified with a wet brush. It’s a gorgeous palette option for those of you wanting to wear blue eyeshadow without looking crazy or like a teenager from the 1980’s. The blues in this palette are smokey and lustrous, the light blue has just enough shimmer in it to capture the light, and the chocolate brown is perfect for complementing the blues.
To Achieve This Look:
- I swiped the upper right-hand shade over the inner half of my eyelid, and the upper left-hand shade into the outer half of my eyelid. Blend these two together so they each take up half of your eyelid, but there is no obvious or harsh line where they meet.
- Use the baby blue shade in the inner corners of your eyes for light and shimmer.
- Apply the chocolate brown shade to the crease of your eyes for definition in the socket.
- Apply the upper left-hand shade along your lower lash-line and smoke it out.
I applied black eyeliner to my lower water-line to help the colors pop, and I also added gel liner to my upper lash-line and winged it out. I love the way black eyeliner looks against these shades. It really makes all eye colors pop.
The end result is all about the smokey blues and the black liner. This is a great look for hot summer nights!
I also used one of the brand new Laura Mercier Gel Lip Colour’s from this collection in the color “Flushed.” I absolutely ADORE the formula on this product. It’s really lightweight and feels sheer like a balm, but it puts down lovely color and still looks opaque on the lips. I love the gel formulation and I am hoping that Laura Mercier adds these to their permanent collection!
Flushed is a pinky-nude shade, and it is super moisturizing on your lips. I love how versatile this shade is, and I love the gel formula.
I contoured and highlighted my face, and used a bronze blush to keep everything neutral.
The finished look is what I would perfectly describe as “Summer In St. Tropez,” especially at night, when things heat up and you’re out and about. The look is all about being grown-up sexy.
