Several times now I have been in Sephora and checked out these Josie Maran Argan Love Your Lips Hydrating Lipsticks. I swatched each color on my hand, and they all put down really great pigmentation, so I was extremely tempted to purchase one. Since I recently had the chance to test one out and review it here on my blog, I was pretty excited. I’m a huge fan of Josie Maran’s Argan Oil, and I use it for everything from dry cuticles to a facial moisturizer to split ends on my hair. This lipstick is very unique looking, it has a clear outer shell of pure argan oil, with the core being the actual lipstick shade. Not only does it look cool, it makes the color apply really smoothly, like butter. It leaves behind a slightly glossy finish that doesn’t dry out your lips. Spirited Red is your classic cherry red shade. What’s so cool about this product is that it is encased in a shell of pure argan oil, so the outside looks clear. The core of the lipstick is full of color, and the argan oil helps keep your lips moisturized and protected. The argan oil also adds a hint of glossy shine to the formula. This lipstick is sort of a hybrid between a lipstick, lip gloss, and a lip balm, yet it puts down great color.

 

 

 

 

Color me impressed when I swatched Spirited Red on my hand. In just a couple of swipes, there was pure, rich red color.

 

 

 

 

 

It is a stunning lipstick that is buildable in coverage, which I like. You can pat it on for a wash of cherry color or apply two coats for a nice glossy opaque look like I did above. Even with how rich the color is, it feels so hydrating on your lips…almost like a lip balm. This is a great product for the winter when lips tend to become very dry and chapped.

 

 

 

 

 

I think this is a wonderful product, and I highly recommend it. There are six shades in the line total, with many of them being more natural looking shades, so you may want to check those out as well. I personally think I want to go back for the berry shade in the line. I love the texture of these and how soft they make my lips feel!
