For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had very prominent cheekbones. Not just cheekbones, but cheeks in general. I remember always disliking my round cheeks when I was younger, but I’ve really grown to love them as I’ve gotten older. They keep my facial structure soft and youthful (hey, people actually pay to get cheek implants!), and applying my contour, blush, and highlight is always fun since it’s such a distinctive feature. Whether you’ve got no cheekbones or prominent ones like me, highlighting and contouring is a fantastic makeup trick. It can really take a simple makeup look and turn it into something glamorous. You can do all three…highlight, blush, AND contour with the limited edition NARSissist Cheek Kit. I love NARS products, and two of my all-time favorites are in this travel-size palette, Orgasm and Laguna.

The NARSissist Cheek Kit actually comes with a travel-sized blush brush. I love the brush. I don’t often care for brushes that are included with kits and palettes, but this one can be used for contouring your cheekbones and highlighting your cheekbones, because it is actually somewhat dense and stiff, without feeling scratchy on your skin.
The palette IS travel-sized. I like this feature because it saves me room in my makeup kit. If I’m traveling, I don’t have to throw bronzer, blush, and highlighter all in my makeup bag, I can just use this. It saves room and you can even keep the kit and the brush in your handbag with you for touch-ups.
This Cheek Kit contains:
- 0.08 oz Highlighting Blush in Devotee (luminous alabaster sheen)
0.08 oz Blush in Orgasm (peachy pink with gold shimmer)
0.08 oz Bronzer in Laguna (diffused brown powder with golden shimmer)
I’ve never used Devotee before, but it’s a really pretty highlighting shade with a slight pink pearl tone to it. Orgasm is NARS’ famous blush, and is stunning. It’s a classic blush that will never, ever go out of style and looks great on absolutely everyone. I’ve gone through at least ten of these blushes. Laguna is one of my all-time favorite bronzing shades. It has a slight shimmer to it, but it’s so fine that you don’t notice it unless you’re looking in high-resolution photography (like in the swatch above). It looks very matte on the skin, which is why it makes the perfect bronzing shade for contouring your cheekbones, nose, and forehead with. I’ve also gone through multiple Laguna bronzers in my lifetime!
Highlight, Blush, & Contour: This simple process is how to define your face and add that extra something special. Feel your cheekbones with your fingers. You can usually feel where there is a squishy hollow part just underneath. If you can’t find it with your fingers, make a “fishy face” and apply the bronzing shade in that area. You want to create a sculpted shadow in that area. Blend it well, and add some blush on top of your cheeks. I like to stick my blush just past the apples and up onto my temples a bit. With highlighter, keep it above your cheekbones, so when the light hits your face, you will glow. I used the NARSissist Cheek Kit for this entire look to sculpt out my face.
What would have been an otherwise very “everyday” makeup look now looks more glamorous and Hollywood-like because of my sculpted facial features. That is the power of makeup!
The NARSissist Cheek Kit is limited edition and available in Sephora stores nationwide, as well as online at Sephora’s website. Each kit retails for $49.00 USD. Click on the photograph and/or text below to browse or order your kit:
