Part of Covergirl’s new “blast” collection, Smoky Shadowblast’s are double sided eyeshadows which can be used to create a variety of makeup looks, or even used as eyeliner. In six different shades and combination’s, there is sure to be something out there for every eyeshadow lover. My sister recently told me how much she loved the Covergirl Smoky Shadowblast, and since I have never tried these before, I thought it was perfectly apropos that she do a guest review for us here at Beauty Gala!

Covergirl's Guide to Applying
Covergirl Smoky Shadowblast in “Purple Plume”
Covergirl’s Smoky Shadowblast is part their newest collection of eyeshadows that they have recently come out with. After making many types of eyeshadow applications – powders, roll-on’s, creamy, and liquid, Covergirl has finally found one that actually works. Most have been discontinued due to sales going down, because the eyeshadows did not sell as well as they had hoped they would. The majority of them either have to be continuously reapplied throughout the day, or they crease, causing an unsightly look. They claim new Smoky Shadowblast is easy to apply, can be used as an eyeshadow and liner, and will stay on all day. The new applicator, which looks like a two sided lipstick, has two sides: one side has a lighter color (mine is a light pink “frosty” shimmer), and the other side is a dark golden brown. Their video tutorials make it look so easy: Just apply the lighter color all over the eyelid, then apply the darker color along the crease and eyelash line (under eye liner use is optional for a bolder look), and lightly blend them together with your finger.
I was leery about Covergirl’s new Smoky Shadowblast because I have used every type they have ever made, and while the colors were pretty, they did not live up to their claim. However, I decided to give it a try and bought it, since the lighter color was a discontinued shade that I had always loved, but couldn’t find anymore. The very first time I applied it, I was completely blown away by the beautiful shade it created, the ease of use, and how long it lasted. It lasted all day until I took it off with makeup remover. Mostly, I love the fact that anyone, whether you are a novice or expert, a “basics girl”, or a “can’t live without my makeup” girl, can apply and use these eyeshadows. They don’t crease, and are perfect for everyday use, or a night out. I personally use mine everyday, and just bought four more colors from their Smoky Shadowblast Collection. They also feel so light on your eyes, and even after rubbing my eyes, the eyeshadow stayed. They are a serious upgrade from their other formulas and color line. They truly have come a long way, indeed! I have recommended this product to everyone I know and so far they all love it as well.
