Luminous skin? Check. Healthy glow? Check. Natural looking makeup? Check. I did an Instagram post in conjunction with Octoly and BECCA Cosmetics recently, where I used three BECCA products for this glow. I also have been trying out a new SonicBlend Brush from Michael Todd Beauty that has been blending my face products in like a dream. I want to explore all of these products with you in this post because if I can get a glow like the one you see above in the dead of winter, you can too!
The three magic products from BECCA Cosmetics:
- Backlight Priming Filter. I’m not sure what is in this primer, but I’m pretty sure it’s bottled up magic. Like a regular face primer, you want to use this after moisturizer but before your foundation. This leaves the most gorgeous, subtle glow on your skin that looks absolutely ethereal. It almost looks like you have a real-life Instagram filter on your skin after you apply it. It really helps to blur out imperfections while leaving behind a nice dewy finish. I’d recommend this for dry and combination skin mostly, although I do have oily/combo skin and it made my skin look great.
- Luminous Blush in Snapdragon. This is one of those universal cheek colors that looks great on every skin tone. It’s a medium coral shade with the most subtle golden glow to it. As soon as I swiped this on my cheeks, I felt like my makeup look came to life. It brought that perfectly youthful look back to my skin and really tied everything together.
- Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. I’ve been using this powder highlighter for quite a few years now. It is an instant classic and a cult-beauty product at this point. What I like most about it is that it doubles as an eyeshadow and body highlighter. For this makeup look, I used Opal on my eyelids as my eyeshadow.
On my lips, I used NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss. I love that it is semi-sheer and has golden reflects in it. It ties together beautifully with Snapdragon.
Isn’t the finish from the blush and the highlighter wonderful? I’ve been testing out the Michael Todd SonicBlend Brush (look for a future post on this) and the finish it gives me is pretty remarkable. I was skeptical at first, but it really buffs my primer and foundation in. It uses sonic movements to blend everything so that it looks like you’ve used airbrush makeup. I’m going to continue testing it out, but so far I am quite impressed with how invisible this makes my base look.
Note how pretty Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal looks as an eyeshadow too!
