I’ve made it known on my blog many times before that Francois Nars has been, hands down, my makeup artist and photography muse. I have adored his work for the longest time and I proudly display his book on my vanity. Whenever a new season comes around, I highly anticipate what will be coming out and Fall 2015 is here baby! Today I have the NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow for you in “Pasiphae” and “Telesto.” These eyeshadow shades are super versatile because they can be worn dry or wet, depending on your desired intensity and effect. “Pasiphae,” the duo-chrome green-to-brown shade, is especially unique and extraordinary. It’s a must-have in my book. I’ve got swatches and a makeup look for you inside!
NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow is a product that was released last year, but they continue to make limited edition shades for the seasons. Every single Dual Intensity Eyeshadow that I own and have tried has been incredibly smooth and opaque in pigmentation. What I love about these is that you have the option to wear them dry or wet, depending on what effect you’re going for.
Another reason I love the Dual Intensity Eyeshadow is because they are the perfect size for traveling and toting around. They are also magnetic and stack together like a dream. If I want to bring these along with me for touch-up’s, or I am doing a makeup application on someone, these are easily organized and take up little space.
Telesto is a warm brown with a bronze sheen to it. The bronze sheen is very subtle when you use it dry and becomes much more metallic when you use the eyeshadow wet. This is a great neutral shade that applies with ease and blends well with a brush. I personally love this shade for my crease and socket area. It’s a classic neutral brown that goes with pretty much anything.
Pasiphae is the real star in this collection though. Notice how in the photographs above of the actual eyeshadow, it looks green from one angle and brown from another. This shade has the most insane duo-chrome effect, even when it is dry. The metallic green shimmer in it is highly noticeable and looks stunning with the brown base. Like “Telesto,” this one is super pigmented and smooth in just one swipe.
For this makeup look, I kept it simple and easy. I used “Telesto” in the crease of my eye and blended it along my lower lash-line. I applied “Pasiphae” with a wet makeup brush and patted it onto my eyelid, stopping at the crease. I also applied it to the center of my lower lash-line for a pop of metallic gleam. I applied black eyeliner to my water-line and tight-lined my upper lashes, applied mascara, and boom! Stunningly gorgeous duo-chrome eyes that you will receive a ton of compliments on.
How foxy is “Pasiphae?” I mean, seriously! It’s impossibly cool looking and still remains sophisticated. It’s perfect for any season and any eye color.
NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in “Telesto” and “Pasiphae” will be available starting July 15th, 2015 at NARS counters nationwide and online at NARSCosmetics.com. Each eyeshadow retails for $29.00USD. I highly recommend checking out “Pasiphae” especially. It’s a really unique shade with a perfect formula.
