New York Color’s Berry Bloom Collection for Fall 2010 yet again impresses, highlighting the romantic berries that we have seen all over the runways this season. In this collection are two rose lip glosses, in “Rose Kiss,” and “Peony Kiss.” The packaging on these lip glosses are just darling – the rose design on the actual lip gloss is reminiscent of higher-end products who put extra special touches and effects to make the products feel luxurious. The colors are rich, creamy, and pigmented, and perfect for the cooler weather, so go ahead and take a look for more swatches…
The rose design on these lip glosses is gorgeous and unique, and not something you typically see in drugstore brand makeup. These popped out at me from the very beginning, and these were “must-haves” for me because of it. Also, they looked creamy and rich, even inside the packaging!
Rose Kiss is a gorgeous dusty, berry rose-pink lip gloss. This shade is subtle but feminine, and it really has beautiful pigmentation to it. I was very impressed with how creamy and soft these felt! Neither of these glosses have any weird smell or scent to them, and they are completely moisturizing and non-sticky. The formula is great, so NYC, don’t change a thing!
Peony Kiss is a mauve-berry wine shade, and is yet another shade reminiscent of Benefit’s “Good-to-Go” Lipstick, which is what was used on Bella Swan in Twilight. This shade is popping up everywhere, because it really looks great on everyone, and can be applied with a light hand for a subtle look, or a heavier hand for stronger, dramatic lips.
The New York Color Berry Bloom Collection for Fall 2010 is very impressive in entirety, and I purchased most of it over the weekend, so keep your eyes peeled for more photographs and swatches from this gorgeous collection. This display is currently available at drugstores nationwide, as well as Ulta stores nationwide. Each rose lip gloss was under $4, as well…NYC Cosmetics are a secret hidden gem among cosmetic companies, because they are really fantastic quality.

Both of these are gorgeous! I especially like Peony Kiss but I’d happily wear both colors. Next time I go to Target I’ll have to look for these! ….Unless I come to SC before then 🙂

Beautiful colors! Too bad you have to apply them with fingers/brush 🙁

Aw, I know that is a drawback for certain people, SH! I typically like an applicator of some type, as well, but these were so pretty I made an exception!

I saw these yesterday in Duane Reade and was tempted to buy the Peony gloss. Is it moisturizing? I was hoping for something reddish/dusty brown pink, but I have too many lipsticks in that color and want something I can slick on that hydrates my lips. Did Peony kiss gloss fit that bill? Was it more matte (as it appears in the package itself) or shimmery (as it seems in the photo with flash)?
Rebecca says
Welcome H! These are moisturizing on the lips, yes. They feel very smooth and hydrating without being sticky. The texture almost reminds me of a balm, actually. Peony has a slight gloss consistency to it, it’s not completely matte.

Oh, and just as an addition, none of the photographs above were taken with flash. All natural light, with no flash. I should have added that in to the article, my apologies!
