Confession: I totally bought this palette because it was absolutely gorgeous both in the packaging and once swatched. However, I did not actually know who or what the Aqualillies are. They are a synchronized water ballet entertainment company and all of the biggest magazines and celebrities have hired them for entertainment. The women on the team are incredibly inspiring, with a combination of both looks and glamor with extreme dedication and athleticism. I ended up watching some of their performances which are very mesmerizing and fun to watch. This palette is inspired by the Aqualillies, and contains gorgeous shades inspired by their craft.
How glamorous and beautiful are they? They are like the Rockettes of the swimming pool! I love their style and the costumes they put them in. The colors of blue and coral together are absolutely stunning and make for perfect inspiration.
The packaging is what originally caught my eye. The shades of aqua and coral with the metallic gold is really perfect for the summer. I love the design on the front of the palette so much.
When you open this palette up, you will not be disappointed. I got my fingers and hands all dirty in Ulta while swatching this because it was just that pretty. It comes with six full size Amazonian clay eyeshadows in exclusive shades for this palette, a full size Amazonian clay blush in “Captivating,” an Amazonian clay matte bronzer in “Park Ave Princess,” and an Amazonian clay shimmering powder in “Champagne.”
It also comes with instructions for two looks you can achieve using the palette. Here are swatches of each color in the palette:
Champagne and Park Ave Princess are a beautiful highlighter and bronzer. You can use “Champagne” as a highlighter, but it can also be worn as an eyeshadow. It’s incredibly soft (the softest EVER!) and very pigmented. It spreads and blends like BUTTAH! The bronzer is also a fantastic option for those with light to light-medium skin, and it is matte, which I like.
Captivating is the full size blush in the palette and it is a very naturally pretty coral shade.
Hammock, Bikini, and Barefoot are amazing! Hammock is a dark matte chocolate brown, Bikini is a golden peach that has a pinkish duo-chrome effect to it, and Barefoot is a golden nude. They were all so super soft and pigmented upon application.
Parasol, Sundeck, and Poolside are also winners in my book. Each shade was fantastically rich in color. Just look at how beautiful they are! Parasol is a champagne rose shade, Sundeck is a matte light brown, and Poolside is a shimmering turquoise that shines lighter. These shades would look fantastic together.
Overall, I am very pleased I purchased this palette. The shades are all very summery and can be combined to create both subtle and dramatic looks. You can tote this around and have everything you need: bronzer, blush, highlighter, and eyeshadow all in one, which makes it great for traveling. All of the products in the palette were rich in color and soft to the touch.
Of course, now I’m going to be using this palette and thinking of the glamorous swimming ladies above. I love their lily caps and retro bathing suits!
