Eyeliner is one of my favorite ways to add a fun pop of color or interest to your makeup look without being over the top. I’ve been adding pops of color lately to my eyes with purple and turquoise eyeliner for the summer. Today, I have ColourPop’s “Get Paid” Creme Gel Colour (it also comes in regular pencil form) for a lovely flash of rose gold on the eyes. The hardest part is deciding whether you love the $6.00USD price tag of the eyeliner or the actual eyeliner itself more. Full look and details inside,
Get Paid is a true rose-gold with flecks of metallic sheen in it. It comes in both a Creme Gel Colour pot like the one above (and the one I own) and in regular eyeliner pencil form. Both are beautiful, and I would recommend the pencil form to someone just starting out with makeup because the gel form is just slightly trickier.
The formula on this is wonderful. It is pigmented and smooth, but it does dry quickly so you have to work fast. I like to use a stiff, small angled liner brush to apply this to my lash-line. You can also use this along your lower lash-line and water-line, although this is a bit trickier than just going in with a regular eyeliner pencil.
I dipped my small, angled eyeliner brush into the creme gel formula and created a full cat-eye wing along my upper lashes. The brush I used is the Sigma E65 Brush and I really love it for applying any type of gel or creme eyeliner to my eyes. If you find a cat-eye tricky, try using the Sigma E65. The right brushes and tools can really make all the difference!
I kept the rest of the eye makeup very light and demure. I used a matte light brown eyeshadow for my entire eyelid and lower lash area. I blended it well and applied a flesh-toned eyeliner on my lower water-line to open up the eyes. I used my personal favorite, MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20. I curled my lashes and applied mascara, using my favorite mascara ever, It cosmetics Superhero Mascara.
The finished look is natural, but playful and interesting to look at. When I wore this, I had a lot of questions and compliments on my eyeliner! It just adds that pop of metallic shimmer that makes your skin and eyes glow. This shade, in particular, is perfect for summertime makeup.
For my lips, I also went with ColourPop. I used their Lip Creme in “Bound” to finish off the look. Their lip products are fantastic and very inexpensive. Also used on my face:
- L’oreal Pro Glow Infallible Foundation
- NYX Highlight & Contour Kit
- NARS Orgasm Blush
- Anastasia Glow Kit in “Sundipped”
- NYX Micro Brow Pencil in “Taupe”
- Pixi by Petra “Glow Mist”
Time to get your glow on!
