Nail of the Day: China Glaze Magnetix Collection, Photographs & Swatches

The first time I tried magnetic nail polish was when I spotted it in a Sephora store. I was so entranced by the idea that I actually dropped over fifteen dollars on a single bottle of it. Now that the trend has picked up, we see major brands coming out with magnetic nail polish such as the China Glaze Magnetix Collection. China Glaze changes the game up a little bit with a cool little gadget that contains three different magnet designs, as well. Oh, and the price of this nail polish is much more reasonable, at only $5.99 a bottle at Sally Beauty Supply. To see photographs, swatches, and how to use this nail polish, read more…

While I don’t have the entire collection of China Glaze’s ElectroPop, I can show you the four shades that I do have, and just how insanely bright and gorgeous they are. This isn’t the most unique collection around, but it doesn’t need to pull out all of the smoke and mirrors to be incredibly beautiful, bright, and perfect for spring and summer. Tutorial: Space “Galaxy” Inspired Manicure/Nails

I am a huge space-loving geek and proud of it. I have fond memories of my parents taking me to Kennedy Space Center in Florida when I was younger, and I still cherish those grainy photographs from the 1980′s. Since then, I have always been an avid reader and watcher of space developments, articles, and especially rocket launches. I decided to do space “galaxy” inspired nails, and I was happy with the way they turned out. The best part? They were really easy to do (no, really), and I will explain everything inside, read more…

Nail Of The Day Lookbook: China Glaze “Broken Hearted” Crackle Over Zoya “Trixie”

Crackle nail polish is all the rage right now! I have to be honest when I tell you that I love this trend because it brings something new and fresh to the nail polish scene. For awhile there, it seemed like we were a little stagnant with nail polish shades and collections, and these crackle nail polishes bring something new and fun to the scene. China Glaze is the first to introduce color crackle nail polish, available in six different shades. I have had my collection for awhile, but have been hesitant to post full swatches of the collection because a couple of the shades don’t crackle as well as the others. I finally found a gorgeous combination, however, with Zoya “Trixie,” a metallic silver nail polish, with China Glaze “Broken Hearted” pink crackle over top of it. To see photographs, swatches, and tips for achieving this look, read more…

Tutorial: “Metallic Irony” Manicure

nails24

Using a dark, vampy color, and then applying bright, metallic nail art is one of the best ways to create bold but sophisticated nails. For this look, I used China Glaze “Emerald Fitzgerald” as a base, then I used a nail art striping polish to create parallel squiggly lines. The gorgeous, rich emerald color peeks out from underneath the metallic silver stripes, creating grown-up glamour. To see how I achieve this look, read more…
