I spotted these new Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Colors in the drugstore recently, and since Wet n Wild is known for their incredibly pigmented, inexpensive products, I figured I’d pick up a few. I have four here for you today: Pocketful of Roses, Click On My Hyperpink, Back To The Fuchsia, and I Can Bare It. Oh, and I also bought myself a brand new macro lens which was delivered to my house yesterday, so hopefully you notice a difference in the quality and detail of pictures from here on out!
There were plenty of colors to choose from in the drugstore, but I tried to choose shades I know I would wear the most and get the most use out of.
Pocketful of Roses is a shimmering rosy-pink. Each of these come with a flat double-sided applicator. I liked this one because it had little bits of shimmer in it, but it inevitably ended up being the downfall of this particular shade for me.
This particular shade was a nightmare on my actual lips. First of all, since these are meant to be “long-lasting” lip colors, they go on smooth and glossy, but then they dry down to a sticky finish on your lips. This enables them to stick to your lips and last for hours and hours. I didn’t have an issue with any of the other colors, but because this color had shimmer in it, it seemed to create little clumps on my lips, and it was a nightmare to remove. My lips weren’t even chapped before taking this swatch, and yet this color makes them look incredibly chapped. I do believe it is the shimmer in this one that makes it clumpy and sticky. If you are going to wear this shade, I would definitely recommend a lip balm over top of it.
I Can Bare It is a nude-brown shade. This one performed much better than “Pocketful of Roses,” and again, I suspect it is because it contains no shimmer. The shade is a really opaque, beautiful nude shade that would look fantastic with a very colorful eye look.
Back To The Fuchsia is a bright cool-toned fuchsia pink shade that will make your teeth look extra white. This shade is stunning. It was super smooth, silky, and long-wearing. I’m a huge fuchsia-pink lip color lover, and this one just hits that sweet spot for me.
Click On My Hyperpink is the brightest, coolest, blue-toned Barbie-pink you can think of. It really is a sight to behold, and I think it’s absolutely lovely. The only thing to keep in mind is that a very milky shade like this one will show every imperfection on your lips, so make sure they’re very well hydrated before applying. This is just one of those flaming hot, neon colors that will look absolutely gorgeous on anyone from pale skin to very dark skin.
Overall: I had absolutely no problems with the three shades that had no shimmer in them. They were opaque, rich in color, and extremely long-lasting, with the exception of Pocketful of Roses which was clumpy and made my lips look horrid. Since these have a long-lasting formula to them, they do dry a bit sticky. You can apply a balm or clear gloss over top of it if you hate the slightly sticky feeling. I’d say these are a great deal at $1.99 a pop, but I will personally stay away from the shimmers in the line.
Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Color is available in an assortment of shades at drugstores nationwide. Each Liquid Lip Color retails for $2.99 USD. These all have little peel off insta-coupons on them right now for $1.00 off, so I paid $1.99 for each of them.
