I am so, so excited to be getting swatches of the brand new Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette up today. This means that I can do a few looks for you guys using the palette and give you some idea’s on how to use it. I adore playing with new releases, especially eyeshadow palettes, and the UD Vice Palette‘s are some of my favorites. This third one is absolutely gorgeous, from the packaging to the shades inside. I’ve got plenty of pictures inside so go ahead and take a look!
The palette is housed inside of a makeup bag with the same graphic print as the middle of the palette. I love that they included a makeup bag in with the palette because let’s face it, you can never have enough makeup bags. The packaging on this palette is my favorite out of the Vice Palette’s thus far. It’s super sleek and city-inspired, housed in a silver palette with bright green lettering on top of it. The swirl of color is meant to look like lights in a city blurring together as they move quickly. The packaging is smaller and more compact than previous Vice Palette’s which I like. It makes it easier to tote around and is overall more travel-friendly.
When you open the palette, you are transported to another world with twenty shades of drop-dead gorgeous eyeshadow colors. I could not be more pleased with the color choices and finishes of the shades in this palette. We see a nice mix of matte and shimmer along with some neutrals and brights. Let’s take a closer look…
COLUMN 1, Truth, Undone, Downfall, DTF: These are your neutral matte shades of the bunch and they’re beautiful. They were all soft, pigmented, non-chalky, and really blended well. These will be perfect for the crease of the eye and blending out other shades. I also love the shade name “DTF” because it’s typical tongue-in-cheek Urban Decay.
COLUMN 2, Dragon, Freeze, Heroine, Brokedown: Ah, color! Urban Decay knows how to do color and do it well. You’ve got the gorgeously pigmented metallic green and blue and then a dark navy and a metallic gold. All of these were rich in color in just one swipe.
COLUMN 3, Vanity, Lucky, Reign, Bobby Dazzle: This is a column of jewel-toned metallic shades. Talk about rich pigmentation! One swipe and you’ve got perfection.
COLUMN 4, Alien, Alchemy, Bondage, Sonic: This might be my favorite column of shades, believe it or not! This is your column of pinks with one purple mixed in there. I don’t wear a ton of pink eyeshadow but this palette is going to change that. The shades are so smooth and pigmented…not to mention, gorgeous. I especially love that last shade, “Sonic” because it’s a unique mix of pink and orange.
COLUMN 4, Last Sin, Angel, Defy, Revolver: This is your group of neutrals that can create the perfect everyday look or the perfect smokey eye. I love having a group of shades like this in a palette because you can really wear them however you want to. These are all super rich in color and absolutely flawless. Look at “Angel” and how gorgeous the shimmer in it is! These will pair perfectly with some of the brighter and louder shades in the palette.
Overall, the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette does not disappoint. If you’re a fan of Urban Decay’s or you just want to try something of theirs out, I highly recommend this limited edition palette. It has every shade you could want and a mix of finishes from matte to shimmers. All of the shades are super pigmented and easily blendable.
The Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette is limited edition and retails for $60.00 USD. You can purchase this palette online here.
