Just the other day, I raved about NYC (New York Color), and their new product offerings, and showed you a hidden gem of a makeup palette I found in the drugstore. I did a “Cotton Candy Eye Makeup” look using their “Bryant Park,” palette. One of three palettes meant to enhance specific eye colors, but usable by every eye color, the “Central Park,” palette is meant for green eyes, and consists of neutrals: gold, brown, and a dark mocha. To see how I achieve this look,
- Central Park is made to enhance the color of green-eyed babes, but any beauty with any eye color can purchase and rock this eyeshadow palette confidently. The four eyeshadow colors are highly pigmented, soft, and rich. Central Park contains a dark mocha, a medium brown, a gold, and a beige highlight. Inside the palette, there is also an eyeshadow base primer, and a highlighting illuminator. Typically, when you see palettes made to enhance green eyes, we see purple shades, so I was intrigued by the chosen shades for this palette. I feel that these colors did a fantastic job at bringing out the green in my blue-green eyes, and really made them sparkle.
To achieve this look:
First, sweep the gold shade (third shade from top) over your entire eyelid.
Second, using a pencil or a crease brush, sweep the medium brown shade (second from top) into your inner crease, working it out to about two-thirds of your eye crease.
Third, pat the dark mocha shade (top shade) on the outer third of your eye, blending slightly upwards. Also, apply this dark mocha to the entire lower lash line, as a way to make the eye appear slightly smokey and sexy.
Fourth, apply the light beige highlight color to your brow bone. Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.
Viola! Central Park Eyes, a smoldering brown smokey eye.
For my cheeks, I used a bright pink blush, LORAC’s “Flaunt” blush. For my lips, I applied a bright, but pastel pink lipstick. The result is subtle against the smokey brown eyes, but still adds that touch of “sweet” to the look.
