In my last post, I swatched the gorgeous Too Faced Rock n Roll Eyeshadow Palette and gave you my review of it. I wanted to post a look I did using the palette to show you just how buttery smooth and pigmented these shades are. I decided to use the stunning emerald green shade with a pop of gold around the center of my eyes. The result is a look that is perfect for going out on a date or a special night out on the town. It’s a different take on the classic smokey eye and it will make any eye color stand out. Full tutorial and details inside,

THE PALETTE: Too Faced Cosmetics Rock n Roll Eyeshadow Palette
- Using Shade #1 and a fluffy blending brush, apply this grey to the sockets of your eyes. You will need to build up the intensity to your liking. I went back and forth about three or four times for medium intensity and just to create that shadow in my crease.
- Apply Shade #2 with a wet eyeshadow brush over your entire eyelid and lower lash-line. Stop this shade at the crease where the grey shade is, and also apply it to your lower lash area. Go back with your fluffy blending brush if you need to and blend it out along your lower lashes so that it looks smokey.
- Apply Shade #3 to the center of your eyelids and the center of your lower lash-line only. Use a patting motion to apply this gold shade to the centers of the eye only. This draws the attention straight to the center of the eye and makes the emerald pop even more.
- Apply Shade #4 to your brow-bone and inner corners of your eyes. This is to blend out everything!
I applied black eyeliner to my lower water-line and to my upper lashes, winging it out. I applied mascara and some false lashes! Here is what I used:
- L’oreal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner Kohl in “Black”
- Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Push-Up Liner
- Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara in “Black”
- Red Cherry Eyelashes “DW”
The smoldering, intense metallic effect is absolutely gorgeous. It’s sexy and sophisticated and the gold in the center still brings light to your eyes.
For my face, I kept the look neutral with bronze shades. I kept the cheeks simple and used a nude lipstick to top it all off. Here is what I used:
- NYX HD Foundation in “03 – Natural”
- Milani Baked Bronzer in “07 – Sienna”
- MAC “Prism” Blush
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (a MUST HAVE in my collection!)
- NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray
For my lips, I kept them nude, but made sure to line them to create the illusion of larger, fuller lips. Here’s what I used:
And that’s the completed look!
