I recently swatched and reviewed the new Too Faced Country Palette here. I decided to put together a look for the blog, as I always do, so you can see the shades in action and how pigmented they are. I was especially impressed by the purple-grey shade in the palette because it’s so unique. I put together a smokey eye that differs from your traditional shades and looks more on the smokey blue and grey side. What I love most about these shades though is how the colors look slightly different depending on the lighting. Full tutorial and more pictures inside,

I used 4 eyeshadow shades from the Too Faced Country Palette. I marked them above. Here is how to get the look:
- Apply Shade #1 along the crease of your eye and slightly higher. Blend this shade out by sweeping it upward to create a more dramatic effect. Do this several times until your desired intensity has been achieved.
- Apply Shade #2 on your eyelid up to the crease and along your lower lashes. This is the most beautiful grey-purple shade. I love how different it looks depending on the lighting.
- Apply Shade #3 to the outer third of your eyelid and outer third of your lower lash-line. Pat the color down and then go back with a fluffy blending brush to blend it all out.
- Apply Shade #1 to the center of the lower lash-line for a pop of blue. If you need to, also go back into the crease with this shade.
- Apply Shade #4 to your brow-bone. Use this shade to blend out the socket of the eye really well. Make sure there are no harsh edges.
EYE PRODUCTS USED:
- Too Faced Country Palette
- L’oreal Voluminous Smoldering Eye Pencil
- Benefit They’re Real Liner
- Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara
- Ardell #110 Lashes
The end result is smokey and sophisticated. You can see how different the shades look in real, natural lighting versus flash. It’s part of the reason why I love these blue-violet shades with hints of grey in them.
Whenever I do dramatic eye makeup, I tend to keep the rest of the face somewhat neutral. When I’m working with blue eyeshadow specifically, I stick with bronze, neutral, and peach shades especially. I contoured my cheekbones, used a peachy-bronze blush, and topped my lips off with some nude lip gloss.
FACE/LIP PRODUCTS USED:
- L’oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation (new and I LOVE it)
- Anastasia Contour Kit
- MAC Prism Blush
- Covergirl Colorlicious Lip Gloss in “Give Me Guava”
