Where have you been all my life? File this one under “pure genius.” One of my biggest frustrations as an avid beauty lover and consumer is that I spend money on products I can’t use every single last drop of. When you’ve invested your money into a skincare cream or a foundation, you want to make sure you can use and enjoy every last drop. The problem is, most of the packaging today doesn’t allow us to do so. I’ve found myself using miscellaneous household objects before, everything from a butter knife to a screwdriver, in an attempt to get the very last bit of product. Enter The Spatty and The Spatty Daddy. A genius, foolproof, inexpensive way to solve all of your product wasting woes!
The Spatty comes in a long tube, appropriately named “The Spatty Caddy,” that allows you to store them away when you’re not using them. I love the packaging it comes in because after I’m finished using it, I want to be able to store it away from dust, dog hair, and generally getting lost.
On top, you see The Spatty Daddy, which is, of course, the larger, bigger version of The Spatty. I absolutely adore this tool and I am left wondering why up until now, no one has created this product.
The Spatty Daddy is 12″ long and comes with a tip that is 1 7/16″ x 5/8.” Proportion wise, it is about as wide as the tip of your pointer finger. This is perfect for dipping into items that come in large or long packaging. I’ve been using this one in my shampoo and conditioner bottles! It’s the ideal length and the rounded curve of the spatula digs deep into the bottle to grab my last bit of conditioner. I’d have to say that wasting my conditioner is one of my pet peeves, especially since I have long hair and I always run out of conditioner before I run out of shampoo. This allows me to grab every last bit of product without having to water it down or do some crazy shaking dance in the shower! And, if you want to get really creative, you can easily use this one for decorating cakes and cookies, since the size allows you to be more detailed. I can also see this working well for those who are into crafts or art, such as painting.
The Spatty is 6″ long and comes with a tip that is 5/8″x 3/8.” This one is a little bit larger than the size of my fingernails. This is the perfect solution for my pesky face creams and foundations. This particularly works well if you’ve got a favorite product that has a pump applicator and doesn’t want to dispense product anymore, even though there is a good amount left in the bottle.
To demonstrate, I’ve got some MAC Pro Longwear Foundation here, and it comes with a pump dispenser which is now pumping out nothing but air. My conundrum is that there is still quite a bit of product left inside…at least several uses still. Spatty to the rescue!
The Spatty went right in and came right out with product on it. The small rounded edges on it perfectly got all the way down to the bottom and cleaned off the inside of the bottle. I applied the Spatty right to my face with the foundation on it, and then blended it out.
Cleaning it is a total cinch. It doesn’t absorb whatever you stick it in, so it wipes off and rinses away in just seconds. I used a makeup remover wipe, but you can also just use plain soap and water, too. It looked just like brand new again after I wiped it!
Overall: This product is my new lifesaver. Just like other essentials such as cotton swabs and cotton balls, I now consider The Spatty a “must-have.” Consumer Reports did a study that shows you throw away 15-25% of lotion like consistencies when you cannot get the product out anymore. Thanks to this innovative product and a very forward-thinking inventor, Cheryl Rigdon, I no longer need to toss away or fight with my products to get the most out of them. Best of all, the product is extremely affordable, making this an all around winner in my book.
