I found this lovely L’oreal display at an Ulta in Florida on my trip, and it was composed of a brand new colorful collection for summer. Mark my words…yellow is hot this spring and summer, with models wearing it all over the runway, and the Queen of England showing up in a beautiful pastel yellow skirt-suit for the Royal Wedding. L’oreal Yellow Seahorse Nail Polish is a bright solar yellow with very noticeable orange sheen. It was difficult at times to pick up just how strong and gorgeous the orange sheen in this polish is, but it adds the perfect amount of pop to the color. Ironically, this polish is a great dupe for Nicole by OPI’s “Yellow, It’s Me” from last year, which was also my very first Beauty Gala post ever. To see photographs and swatches,
The formula on this polish was a tad tricky, as most yellows can be. However, it was not awful. What you see above is 3 coats, and you just have to remember to apply this in a thin, even coat, and wait until that coat is dry before the next one. The bright yellow color will look especially gorgeous against fair and dark skin. I was a bit concerned it would clash with my skin tone since I am in between, but it actually looked bright and sunny against my complexion. The wear on this polish so far has been average, with a few days of wear so far with no chipping or peeling. Overall, this is a great shade for a poolside manicure or pedicure, and the price tag is only $5.
Will you be trying the yellow trend this spring or summer? If so, what products have you found that you love in the sunny shade?
