Spring is officially here as of tomorrow, and I am already loving the beautiful birds singing outside of my window every single morning. For this makeup look, I used Mark “On The Dot” Pastel Eye Color Palette, which is a gorgeous new product featuring nine eyeshadow colors in soft, pastel shades. I was incredibly impressed with the pigmentation and quality of this palette, and I knew I wanted to put together a soft, glowing pastel eye makeup look using the shades inside of it. I’ve got instructions on how to achieve this look inside, as well as swatches of this lovely palette!
This Mark “On The Dot” Pastel Eye Color Palette is a limited edition spring release featuring nine pastel eyeshadow shades. If you’re unfamiliar with Mark Cosmetics, they are a part of Avon, and their cosmetics are typically geared more towards the younger crowd. I was very excited to swatch these shades because I was curious as to whether or not these would be pigmented or not. Pastels can be tricky, and often times they don’t have good pigmentation. I was pleasantly surprised by this palette.
You can see that each and every single shade performed really well. One swipe with my finger and these put down wonderfully soft color. I like the variation of shades in the palette, as well. We see blue and green shades, but we also see more neutral shades such as bronze and gold. The middle row of shades was particularly attractive to me, especially when they were swatched next to each other. I decided to put together a look using these three shades, and I also wanted to see how well these performed on the actual eyelids.
The Look:
To achieve this look, I used the middle row of shades only. I used the bronze-beige shade in the middle row, all the way to the left, over my entire eyelid. Then, I applied the purple shade in the middle row, all the way to the right, into the crease of my eye, and blended it upward softly. I also applied this along my lower lash-line. Last, but not least, I applied the gold shade from the middle row into the inner corners of my eyes to brighten it all up. To add depth to an otherwise soft look, I applied black eyeliner to my lower water-line, and black gel liner to my upper lash-line. I love the contrast of the black liner against the soft pastel shades! You can use this palette or any similar colors you may have in your makeup collection.
Overall: If you’re looking for a high-quality eyeshadow palette that contains pastel shades, this is perfect. The shades are soft but pigmented, and apply beautifully on the eyes. The variety you get in the palette is enough to satisfy any pastel lover. This is the perfect palette for spring and summer!
The Mark “On The Dot” Pastel Eye Color Palette is limited edition and retails for $16.00 USD. There are nine pastel shades in the palette. You can browse and purchase this palette online at Mark’s website.
