It’s difficult to even think about spring when the weather outside has been freezing for most of us, but it also helps brighten the winter blues away when you see a palette this gorgeous. The Too Faced Sugar Pop Eyeshadow Palette is brand new for Spring 2015 and features 9 eyeshadows in various candy-colored shades. I’ve got full swatches and my thoughts inside. Be ready for this palette because it ships out on March 1st, 2015!
It’s hard to ignore how pretty this packaging is. With brightly colored macaron’s on the outside, it screams spring, cake, candy, and confection. It’s gorgeous to look at.
The Too Faced Sugar Pop Eyeshadow Palette contains 9 shades. In typical Too Faced palette form, each row of 3 colors is coordinated to go together specifically for a makeup look. They give you an instruction manual showing you how to achieve certain looks using each row of shades. Of course, you know I’ll be mixing and matching my shades throughout the palette.
There are a lot of candy-colored shades in this palette. You’ve got some shimmers, a couple of glitter shades, and even matte shades. I like the variation of finishes and I also like that Too Faced included a few more “wearable” shades in the bunch so that neutral eyeshadow lovers can also use this palette.
SWATCHES:
FIRST ROW: Rock Candy, Macaron, Malted Milk Ball. These were super pigmented and I was impressed because “Rock Candy” is a pure matte off-white shade and “Macaron” is a matte bright coral with bits of gold glitter suspended in it. “Malted Milk Ball” is a beautiful metallic chocolate brown with bits of golden glitter in it.
SECOND ROW: Strawberry Ice, Sugared Violet, Blackberry. Of course I absolutely adore this row of shades because I am a purple lover. “Strawberry Ice” is so super pigmented for a pale, pastel lavender shade! I was super impressed and I will be wearing this shade a lot. “Sugared Violet” is a metallic blue-violet with bits of bright blue and violet glitter in it. It’s more complex in person and, in my opinion, even prettier in person. “Blackberry” is a matte plum-violet shade that will work well for smoking out an eye look or as a crease shade.
LAST ROW: Peach Fuzz, Bubblegum, Blue Raspberry. I was surprised at how much I loved this row of shades! They are so super soft and pigmented. “Peach Fuzz” is this gorgeous matte peachy-champagne shade that has some golden glitter suspended in it. This shade looks way better in person and is hard to pick up on camera because it is so pale in color. “Bubblegum” is a bright and happy pink shade that was really opaque in color. “Blue Raspberry” is a stunning turquoise blue that reminds me of a popsicle.
Overall, I don’t have anything negative to say about this palette. I thought all the shades performed extremely well and had good pigmentation, including the matte shades. There is a good mix of neutrals and brights and this is a great palette for those who like to play with color.
The Too Faced Sugar Pop Eyeshadow Palette will be shipping to Too Faced’s website, Ulta, and Sephora stores nationwide on March 1st, 2015. Each palette will retail for $45.00USD.
