NARS Duo Eyeshadow in “Bouthan” is the perfect palette for Valentine’s Day coming up. Not only will it give you a soft, gorgeous, ethereal look, but it manages to stay flattering on the eye. When I think of things that make up spring, I always think of pastels, flowers, and glowingly soft makeup. I put together a soft but flirty eye makeup look using this palette inside, as well as plenty of photographs and swatches of this stunning palette.
I love NARS more than I can even explain. Francois Nars is one of my biggest makeup inspirations and idols, and I’ve been a fan for over a decade now. I proudly display my “Makeup Your Mind: Express Yourself” book by Francois Nars in my office.
Bouthan contains two eyeshadow shades: a light lavender pink, and a sparkling mid-tone lavender pink with gold sparkle. The colors work beautifully together to create a look that is subtle or dramatic.
The actual eyeshadow formula was very nice on both of these colors. They weren’t too powdery, but they were soft and smooth when applied. Both had a very good amount of pigment as well.
The sparkle in the darker pink shade is absolutely wonderful, and it really makes the color that much more feminine and gorgeous.
I had absolutely no problems working with the product at all, and they were velvety soft. These both blended out beautifully, and can be applied wet for a more intense look.
For this look, I applied the pale shade over my entire eyelid and blended the darker pink into the crease and outer corner of my eye. I applied black gel liner to my upper lash-line and placed a cat-eye flick at the end. I also applied the darker pink shade along my lower lash-line, and used a flesh toned eyeliner on my bottom waterline to open up my eyes and keep them very doe-like.
This would be a really fun look for Valentine’s Day coming up, or even for Breast Cancer Awareness. The pink really pops and stands out on your eyes, but it looks feminine and gentle at the same time.
Overall: I would definitely recommend this palette if you’re looking to try some new shades for the upcoming spring season. Both eyeshadow shades were pigmented and easy to work with and blend.
