The second I spotted the brand new New York Color display in the drugstore, I picked this eyeshadow duo up and thought of Katy Perry at the 2011 Grammy Awards. She was way ahead of the color-blocking trend and showed us a bright but feminine purple and green eye makeup look. This is not only very trendy right now, but it’s also springtime, meaning…have fun with your makeup! I really like this look because it’s bright and eye-catching, but it still manages to be soft and simple. To see photographs and swatches of the eyeshadow duo and how I achieved this super simple makeup look,
SoHo Delight contains two eyeshadows: a pastel purple and a pastel green.
How To Achieve This Look:
The shades are pigmented but very soft, as they are pastels. This is one of the simplest makeup tutorials ever! Simply apply an eyeshadow base, particularly a white base or matching shades (purple on the eyelid, green on the lower lash-line). For my look I used the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils to create a base for the eyeshadow shades. I used “Purple” on my eyelid and blended it out with my finger, and then a pale green along my lower lash line. Then, I applied the NYC eyeshadow colors over top of it. This will help set everything and make it more vibrant and long lasting. I applied black eyeliner to my upper lash line and topped it off with plenty of mascara. My finished look is similar to Katy Perry at the 2011 Grammy Awards:
My Finished Look:
I also picked up another eyeshadow duo and a gorgeous peach blush from the New York Color Cosmetics collection for Spring 2012. This eyeshadow duo retails for $2.99. To find a retailer that sells New York Color near you, browse their website.
